Handsome Hero 13 Lotus (Chinese name: Junjie 13)
Handsome Hero 13 Lotus looks very different from its cousin 'Handsome Hero Lotus'. You will see lots of lovely, bright-pink, double blooms on this unique and unusual sacred lotus. Blooms have flat outer petals with textured layers of inner petals and bright-pink color along with yellow-green receptacles and yellow stamens. Handsome Hero 13 Lotus will add a joyful touch to your water feature!

Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant in a wide (24-48 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench. Cover all but the growth tips with soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Gently add 2-3 inches of water above the soil in the container and place in a sunny location outdoors. (8+ hours of sunlight per day) Add water to your lotus container as it evaporates. In a week or so you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water. DO NOT FERTILIZE. In another week or two you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves it is time to fertilize your lotus.
How To Fertilize Your Lotus Plant
Lotus plants are very heavy feeders! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for optimum growth and best bloom. Simply press the fertilizer tabs into the soil around the roots of your sacred lotus plant, taking care not to damage the roots. Fertilize with 4-6 fertilizer tabs each month from June through September. Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
