Who Are Masha & The Bear?
If you’re not familiar with Masha and the Bear, then you probably should be. First aired in 2009, it is an animate Russian kid’s television show that has become popular throughout Europe.
It’s aired in the UK on several television channels (Boomerang, Milkshake, etc.) and is perhaps most popular on YouTube, where the episodes have amassed billions of views in total, with some individual episodes getting more than 800million views each!
It has all of the ingredients of a fun and engaging kids TV show, with the main character being a young Russian girl named Masha. She lives in a forest with her dog, pig and goat. One day, Masha accidentally followed a butterfly into the home of a bear, and despite the bear’s best attempts to get rid of Masha, the pair become best friends.
The show then follows Masha and Bear on their many adventures, with disaster narrowly avoided on many occasions, stories that have both delighted and humoured children around the world.
