Most modern stereos have a small but constant drain on the battery, even when switched completely off (we have measured 20-40 mA on the stereos we install). This is why most cars have their stereos switched by the ignition.

But these aren't cars... they're Vanagons! And we like to have some tunes rockin' while we're parked! This is a simple toggle switch that allows your stereo to be powered on and off by the ignition switch, therefore eliminating any battery drain from the stereo when the car is parked. When you are camping and want to start up the dance party, just flip the toggle and the stereo will be powered up without the need for the key in the ignition.

Benefits: For daily driving you can eliminate the worry of accidentally leaving your stereo on and draining your battery and even if you have an auxiliary battery, draining it all the way down WILL shorten its life. Then, when you're camping, you can flip the switch and have tunes and an adult beverage without worrying about Johnny Law ruining your day for no good reason (read: get those keys out of the ignition!).

Kit includes: Toggle switch, wiring, connectors, and detailed instructions.

Tools needed for installation: Drill, 1/4" drill bit, wire crimpers/strippers.
