Lotus Planting Instructions

Choose a wide, shallow container (14 - 20 inches wide or wider) using loam soil. Fill your sacred lotus container 2/3 full of loam soil. Dig a shallow trench in the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, taking care not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Add 3 - 4 inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny area outdoors where your sacred lotus plant will receive 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily. Never fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.

Fertilizing your lotus plants

Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, it is time to fertilize your otus plant. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for best bloom, optimum growth and ease of use. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus plant, taking care not to damage the roots.
