"Mostly (83%) Grampians fruit, though there are contributions from Heathcote, Swan Hill and Bendigo. This wine is often a happy hunting ground for value, but this release is a particularly good version of it. It’s alive with peppery spice and fluid with plum-shot flavour, and while it’s medium in weight (at most) it feels silken and satisfying. Bright, deep garnet. Rich red and black fruits underpinned by dried florals and spice. The aromas carry to the palate, proffering florals and spice, luscious red and black fruits paired with fine tannins.

Fruit is predominantly from Mount Langi Ghiran vineyards with a supporting role played by our growers Shiraz from Heathcote, Bendigo and Swan Hill. Whole berries processed to a combination of our large concrete and smaller open-top fermenters, plunged or pumped over three times a day until alcoholic fermentation complete. MLF occurred mostly in tank with the dry wine then racked to used French puncheons and barriques. 12 months maturation before blending for bottling.

2021 was another relatively mild year in terms of temperatures. Yields were back up above average, and quality was good, however, ripening was drawn out but this does give us loads of spice and a full basket of fruit flavours. Whites were fragrant with subtle fruit profiles and reds showed great spice, elegant tannins and firm acid drive.
