An impressive 108mm Carcharodontosaurus saharicus dinosaur tooth, known as the North African Tyrannosaurus rex for its formidable size. A noteworthy discovery from the Northern African landscape, where this exotic theropod dinosaur roamed the Late Cretaceous landscapes. Recognised for its immense size and fearsome predatory nature, this apex predator inhabited the Continental Intercalaire of Northern Africa. CONDITION

A wonderful, and significantly intact Carcharodontosaurus tooth with some wear to the apical cap. Well-preserved enamel/dentin surface with a fine blonde patina and subtle reddish-pink iron staining. With prominent and excellent serrations, including many attractive enamel creases, along the carina and distal carina, and with minimal stress lines. Lingual face is perfectly smooth, indicating stability and minimal movement over time. Natural mineral depositions and conservation consolidation contribute to the sturdy feel of this substantial tooth. The tonal palette is dictated by minerals and deposition in the Cretaceous fossil bed layer, overall producing a wonderful specimen.
