The name, meaning "And the ship sails on," hints at the inspiration behind the design.The E la Nave Va 02B is a three-seater sofa made of curved oak multilayer slats, veneered beech plywood structure, and stove-enamelled die-cast aluminum feet. It comes with a seat and cushions that can be covered in either fabric or leather. The sofa was designed by Atelier Oï, a Swiss design team, and it is named “e la nave va,” which translates to “and the ship sails on.” This design approach aligns with Alias, a company that prioritizes construction principles over formal design requirements. The E la Nave Va 02B sofa's structure is inspired by wooden boat hulls, and it uses a system of visible slats and elastic ribs to support the cushions. The stylish aluminum feet suspend two wooden rails.
