Once again our crews have travelled throughout the country to bring you these wonderful stories of some interesting and dedicated people who live here.

In this collection we meet a Northland family with a booming business specialising in manuka honey, a retired couple who embarked on a new venture milking goats and making organic cheese after becoming bored in their retirement and a family who work the wild waters around Stewart Island, chasing paua, kina and blue cod. We visit actor Sam Neill who has immersed himself in a second career, growing grapes and making wine in Central Otago. On Great Barrier Island, we meet a market gardening couple who grow top-quality heritage fruit and veges using organic methods and a couple who use traditional draught horses for all their farm tasks on a Canterbury high country station. This season of Country Calendar really does cover the length and breadth of New Zealand.
