Beeswax from our local Melbourne Bees

Size: 10 x 8cm had rolled, dipped beeswax wick with printed belly band.

Burn Time: 30+ hours approx

When we extract honey, we cut off the wax caps from each honeycomb cell with an uncapping knife. Its colour varies from nearly white but most often a shade of golden yellow. We simply drain, melt it and filter it with cloth. The wax is taken to an extruder and we swap wax blocks in exchange for sheets of our own beeswax pressed into foundation sheets. These foundations are used in our hives as well as to make candles out of.

Beekeepers have made candles for centuries, you'll find in lots of books on all the various methods including the use of foundation sheets. They make great pillar candles, so we thought we'd share.

Burning your candle

Remove the belly band label and place on heat and flame resistant holder, keep your candle away from drafts or winds - you'll get even and maximum burn time that way, Trim wick to approx 6-7mm before each burn.

A little about Beeswax

The wax is formed by worker bees, which secrete it from eight wax-producing mirror glands on the inner sides of their abdominal segments. Honey bees use the beeswax to build honeycomb cells in which their young are raised with honey and pollen cells being capped for storage. To produce their wax, bees must consume 4kg of honey to make 450g of beeswax. It's pretty special!

There are many uses for Beeswax from cosmetics to craft, candles and furniture polish.. the list goes on.

Not great
Not pleased with these…at first very bright and seemed to hold charge well but as time has gone by they need to be charged ALOT! The glue doesn’t hold to the cabinet well. I wouldn’t buy them again based on them not holding charge long!

Quality lights with all the best features
This type of light has been around for a while, but these new HEDCINLT motion sensing under counter lights have wrapped up all the best features into one nice quality package. These lights have relatively large batteries, 3 color temperature light, full multi-step dimming, motion sensing and ambient light sensing. They mount with magnets for easy removal for charging and all these features are controlled with a remote. I have a doorway between two rooms that are at different elevations (~6”) and I have mounted one of these lights on the top passageway jam to hopefully remind people that there is a step and give adequate illumination to see it. I have placed the second light in the master bath set to very low light level to give a little light to find our way, but not get blasted with the night blinding main lighting. With all the features that these lights have, there are infinite potential applications in most any household.

Bright, Sleek, and Easy to Install – Perfect Under Cabinet Lighting!
Color: 6500K White, Size: 1Roll x 16.4ft
I’m extremely happy with the CUBITOR Under Cabinet COB LED Light Strip kit! The 6500K daylight brightness is perfect—super clean, crisp, and evenly distributed with no visible dots thanks to the COB design. It really upgraded the look of my kitchen and made food prep so much easier. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free. The strip is flexible and cuttable, which made it easy to customize for my space. The adhesive backing is strong, and everything feels high quality and well-made. One of my favorite features is how smooth and diffused the lighting is—it gives a modern, high-end feel without being harsh on the eyes. It’s also very energy-efficient and stays cool even after hours of use. Overall, this is an excellent lighting solution for cabinets, shelves, or workspaces. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for bright, professional-looking LED lighting!
