The Eco Energy S2-6V is a compact, energy-efficient PWM solar charge controller designed specifically for 6-volt off-grid systems. Featuring 3-stage PWM charging (bulk, absorption, float), automatic night-time shutdown, and temperature compensation, it efficiently manages small solar charging applications while consuming minimal power. Fully encapsulated in epoxy potting within a sealed ABS case, it withstands harsh environmental conditions. With an ultra-low 0.2 mA night-time consumption and a maximum charging current of 2.5 amps, it is ideal for maintaining 6V batteries in gates, sensors, remote instrumentation, garden lights, and other small off-grid applications. Designed and built in North America.

Key Features & Benefits

3-Stage PWM Charging: Maximizes battery efficiency and longevity through intelligent bulk, absorption, and float charging stages, ensuring optimal charge without overcharging.

6V System Compatibility: Specifically designed for 6-volt battery banks, with bulk charge set at 7.2V and float charge at 6.8V.

Automatic Night-Time Shutdown: Automatically powers down when the sun sets, reducing power consumption to an ultra-low 0.2 mA and preventing battery drain.

Temperature Compensation: Automatically adjusts charge voltages based on ambient temperature, protecting batteries from undercharging in cold weather and overcharging in heat.

Fully Encapsulated in Epoxy Potting: Completely sealed within a rugged ABS case, providing maximum protection against moisture, dust, vibration, and corrosion for reliable outdoor operation.

Ultra-Low Power Consumption: Consumes only 0.2 mA at night and 0.6 mA in daytime standby – preserving battery power for your loads.

Compact and Lightweight: Weighs just 90 grams (3.2 oz.) with dimensions of 2 x 2 x 1.5 inches, making it easy to install in tight spaces.

Smart LED Status Indicator: Provides clear visual feedback: 3 flashes for charging, 2 flashes for bulk voltage achieved, and 1 flash for float mode activated.

Eco-Friendly Manufacturing: Built using solar power, reflecting a commitment to sustainable production.

5-Year Warranty: Backed by a 5-year warranty for long-term peace of mind.

North American Design & Craftsmanship: Engineered and built to high quality standards with local support.

"More" is not "better"
Format: Kindle
I had the privilege of working with Otis during part of his training at the National Cancer Institute at a time that policies on PSA and mammography screening were being newly scrutinized with respect to risk/benefit. The notion that screening might actually do more harm than good was seen as absolute heresy and I fondly remember the wonder and amazement in Otis' eyes as he unraveled to me just how this counter-intuitive idea could be so. Twenty years later, the truths I learned from Otis back then are still not widely appreciated among patients, indeed even doctors more sadly. I eagerly snatched this book up not only because I knew Otis and expected a riveting review of healthcare but because my experience in pharmaceutical development has led me to participate unintentionally in some of the perverse systems of conflicts of interest that characterize our healthcare system. I am at a personal watershed and this book is a strong antidote for what ails me, i.e. I feel emboldened to take my career in the direction of a solution rather than continue to contribute to the problem. Written for the general audience, We Do Harm breaks the ranks of legions of doctors who are invested in perpetuating a broken but remunerative healthcare system by introducing specific and by no means isolated instances where patients have been harmed. This book is at once disparaging of blind trust of one's physician and optimistic in that some stars like Otis and microcosms like Grady Memorial can and do avoid patient-disadvantaged conflicts of interest. This book provides evidence and motivation for every person in every role they engage in in the healthcare system: patient, consumer, provider, insurer, politician. No one can escape the relevance and import of the key message of this book that "more" is not always "better." Until such time, if ever, that our healthcare system operates under transparency, this is a must read for all. That means you! Now! It can't wait! I am a believer that healthcare quality will come from the bottom up and not the top down and this book exemplifies this spirit; read it and be empowered to ask the hard questions as to who is motivated to provide what care and at what personal gain.
