Originally released in 1979 on Elektra Records, The Inside Story captures Robben Ford’s transition from blues-rock into jazz-fusion, recorded with the musicians who would later form Yellowjackets. This 2023 reissue by Music On Vinyl (MOVLP3209) is pressed on 180g audiophile-grade gold vinyl and limited to 1500 individually numbered copies. The album features Ford’s signature guitar work alongside contributions from Russell Ferrante, Jimmy Haslip, and Ricky Lawson, with horn arrangements by Lou Marini and Tom Malone.
