Abstract in nature and titled ‘Woodland Overtures’, the composition is an interplay of bold, curvilinear forms that suggest the intertwining of trees, foliage, and natural pathways, reinterpreted through a modernist lens.

The palette is rich, featuring warm ochres, blacks, soft lilacs, and off-whites, punctuated by a striking red accent that commands attention at the painting’s core. Delicate red and black contour lines weave through the forms, adding a sense of structure and movement to the composition.

The brushstrokes vary between smooth, controlled edges and more spontaneous, gestural elements, giving depth and dynamism to the work.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary white frame. The painting has a very tiny area of paint loss at its right side as shown in close up. The frame has some very light marks but this does not detract from its overall appearance.
