"On the nose, this is saturated with raspberry coulis and red licorice, pink peppercorns, graphite and black tea, rose petals and blood. It smells sumptuous and looks vibrant and almost light. I'm thinking supple. Yes. Uber fine, with a chalky, silky flow. This is a delicious wine. It's exactly what you'd hope for in medium-weight Syrah. 2020 was a spectacular vintage for Hawke’s Bay and this Syrah shows the beauty of that vintage. Ripe, full fruit and complexity with little influence from oak, showing Hawke’s Bay spice and dark fruits. Despite it’s proximity to the la collina vineyard this wine exhibits a very different tannin structure and is more brooding in its youth. This wine is ready to drink on release and will continue to develop positively for 10—15 years.
