It’s the 1990s, baggy sweats and in your face logos are in- there’s a sweetspot in fashion where sporty and street collide. Though Ralph Lauren typically sold a look that epitomised sophistication, the Polo Sport line attratcted the streetwear crowd with it’s striking colour palette and bold designs. Subsiquently worn through the decade by iconic music stars, the Polo Sport label is as popular as it was in the ‘90s; The line that was first created to be a nod to the ‘92 winter olympics became much more influential than it was originally intended to be. Discontinued in 1998, Ralph Lauren reintroduced the Polo Sport line in 2019, with a collection directly inspired by the originals. Despite this, OG pieces reign superior in the eyes of many, as they’re made from higher quality materials and rarer designs are highly collectable.
