Onkyo TX-RZ30 9.2-Channel AV Receiver at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The TX-RZ30 is a 9.2-channel AV receiver from Onkyo (Osaka, Japan), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built on the acclaimed RZ Series platform, it delivers an amplifier bandwidth of 5 Hz to 100 kHz through a custom high-current Class AB design, supports full-object-based surround formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced, and ships with a Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth licence included. With 9 amplified channels, dual independent subwoofer outputs, HDMI 2.1 with 8K passthrough, and a complete suite of wireless streaming including AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, and Roon Tested certification, the TX-RZ30 is engineered to anchor a high-performance home theater and two-channel listening room alike. It is THX Certified for Theater Reference Sound and carries the AVS Forum Top Choice award for 2024.

Ultra-Wide Bandwidth Amplification

The TX-RZ30 is powered by Onkyo's RZ Ultra-wide Bandwidth Amplifier, built around custom low-noise power transformers and large smoothing capacitors that extend the frequency response far beyond the audible range: from 5 Hz at the bottom to 100 kHz at the top. This exceptionally wide window means the amplifier introduces no phase shift or roll-off within the music or film soundtrack band, preserving micro-detail in high-resolution audio and the full dynamic weight of cinematic LFE content. Rated at 170 W per channel (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 1% THD, one channel driven, IEC) across all nine channels, the TX-RZ30 has the headroom to drive demanding speaker loads with authority. The Class AB topology has been optimised for both control and naturalness, avoiding the listening fatigue associated with lower-cost designs while maintaining the efficiency needed for extended home theater sessions.

Dirac Live, IMAX Enhanced, and Immersive Surround Formats

Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth is included with every TX-RZ30 at no additional cost, calibrating the complete audible frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz for both music and film content. An optional Dirac Live Bass Control upgrade further refines subwoofer output, aligning low-frequency energy with all other channels for a seamlessly integrated bass foundation and improved mid and high frequency clarity. IMAX Enhanced certification brings a proprietary video processing algorithm that optimises colour accuracy, contrast, and detail for a more vibrant and lifelike picture on compatible displays, paired with object-based audio precision in three-dimensional space. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with Neural:X upmixing create enveloping overhead soundscapes, while Dolby Vision pass-through dynamically adjusts brightness and contrast on a scene-by-scene basis. The six HDMI 2.1 inputs and two outputs (with eARC) support 8K/4K Ultra HD, HDR10+, HDCP 2.3, VRR, QFT, ALLM, and SBTM for full compatibility with the current generation of gaming consoles and source components.

Streaming, Connectivity, and Klipsch Optimised Mode

The TX-RZ30 integrates every major wireless streaming platform: AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music HD, Tidal Connect, Deezer, and TuneIn are all onboard, alongside Roon Tested certification for networked audiophile playback. Works with Sonos compatibility with volume pass-through allows the TX-RZ30 to join an existing Sonos wireless multiroom network seamlessly. Bidirectional Bluetooth with SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX HD codecs covers both incoming and outgoing wireless audio. On the analogue side, six RCA inputs and a dedicated phono input accommodate turntable users, while 9.2-channel pre-amplifier outputs with two independent subwoofer outputs provide full flexibility for adding external amplification. Klipsch Optimised Mode encodes precise factory crossover settings for Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers directly in the receiver, enabling plug-and-play integration without manual tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Onkyo TX-RZ30?

The Onkyo TX-RZ30 is a 9.2-channel AV receiver from Onkyo's premium RZ Series, featuring a Class AB amplifier rated at 170 W per channel, an ultra-wide bandwidth of 5 Hz to 100 kHz, Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth included, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced processing, and HDMI 2.1 with 8K support. It is THX Certified for Theater Reference Sound and is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada.

How does the Onkyo TX-RZ30 compare to the Denon AVR-X4800H or Yamaha RX-A6A?

The TX-RZ30 differentiates itself from the Denon AVR-X4800H and Yamaha RX-A6A primarily through its bundled Dirac Live Full Bandwidth licence, which both Denon and Yamaha charge extra for or omit entirely in favour of their proprietary Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and YPAO RSC systems respectively. The Onkyo's 5 Hz to 100 kHz amplifier bandwidth and THX certification also set it apart from many comparably priced rivals, as does its native IMAX Enhanced certification and Klipsch Optimised Mode, which the Denon and Yamaha equivalents do not offer. For buyers who prioritise room correction accuracy and wide amplifier bandwidth in a nine-channel design, the TX-RZ30 represents a strong value proposition.

Can the Onkyo TX-RZ30 support a 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos layout?

Yes, the TX-RZ30 fully supports both 5.2.4 and 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos speaker configurations. With nine amplified channels and two independent subwoofer outputs, the receiver has the channel count and processing capability to drive overhead or height speakers simultaneously with a full surround array and dual subwoofers, creating a three-dimensional sound field that fully realises object-based Atmos content.

What is Dirac Live Full Bandwidth and why does it matter?

Dirac Live Full Bandwidth is an advanced digital room correction system that analyses and corrects the complete audible frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, rather than only the mid and high frequencies addressed by many competing auto-calibration systems. It uses a microphone measurement process to map room acoustic anomalies and then applies a target curve correction to every speaker in the system, improving imaging, tonal accuracy, and bass definition. On the TX-RZ30, the Full Bandwidth licence is included in the box at no extra cost, which is unusual at this price point and was previously an optional upgrade on the higher-tier TX-RZ50.

Does the Onkyo TX-RZ30 work with Sonos?

Yes, the TX-RZ30 is Works with Sonos compatible and supports volume pass-through, meaning it can be added to an existing Sonos wireless multiroom network and controlled via the Sonos app alongside other Sonos devices. High-quality audio from Sonos sources is routed through all 9.2 channels of the TX-RZ30, and volume adjustments made in the Sonos app are passed directly to the receiver.

Is the Onkyo TX-RZ30 suitable for gaming with a PS5 or Xbox Series X?

Yes, the TX-RZ30 is fully equipped for next-generation gaming. Its HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K at 120 Hz and 8K at 60 Hz passthrough, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM), covering every feature required by the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for optimal visual performance and minimal input lag.

Where can I buy the Onkyo TX-RZ30 in Toronto or Canada?

The Onkyo TX-RZ30 is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorised Onkyo dealer located in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound carries the complete Onkyo RZ Series AV receiver lineup and offers in-store demonstration, expert configuration advice, and support for Dirac Live calibration and system integration.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.

Pretty Darn Good
Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.
