Installation

To make the installation process effortless and quick, you will need: Tape measure, Stud finder, Pencil, Level, Drill.

Step 1: Stud installation is strongly recommended. Use a stud finder to locate studs, and lightly mark their location with a pencil.

Step 2: Once you determine where to hang your shelf, use a level to line up the mounting bracket on the wall. Use a pencil to mark the bracket's screw holes on the wall studs.

Step 3: Using the provided screws, lightly screw the mounting bracket into the wall (do not fully tighten yet). Using a level, make sure the bracket is level, then fully screw the bracket into the wall.

Step 4: Line up the holes on the back of the shelf with the bracket extensions, and slide the shelf into place.

Staining & Finishing Guide

Apply Pre-Stain Conditioner (Recommended): Apply a pre-stain wood conditioner to softwoods (pine, fir) or porous woods to prevent blotchy, uneven absorption. Allow it to penetrate for 5–15 minutes before wiping off excess.

Apply Stain: Stir the stain (do not shake). Apply it in the direction of the grain using a rag, foam brush, or bristle brush. Let it sit for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the desired darkness—longer sit times result in darker, richer colors.

Wipe Excess and Seal: Wipe off all excess stain with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not let stain dry on the surface, as it will become sticky and uneven. Let it dry for at least 24 hours, then apply a protective finish like polyurethane.

Care

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To protect finish, avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners. Hardware may loosen over time. Periodically check that all connections are tight.
