About the Workshop:

This in-person class at Center for Book Arts is taught by instructor Rhonda Khalifeh.

Letterpress is one of the oldest forms of printmaking and it is a versatile asset to the book artist in the production of editions, text, images, and more.

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of how to set up and print on a Vandercook press, and how to properly clean up and maintain the press for consistent results. Students will learn the essentials of letterpress printing including lockup, packing, inking, registration, impression, paper selection, troubleshooting, and cleanup.

This workshop is ideal for artists, aspiring publishers, and anyone who wants to get their hands dirty with a little history and fun. This workshop prepares the student for the next course in CBA's letterpress learning track, Intro to Typography on Press (Letterpress 2).

Class size is limited to ensure an optimal student-to-teacher ratio. Register now before the remaining spots fill up!

Required Materials:

  • Pencil and paper for taking notes
  • Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get stained or dirty

All other materials will be provided by Center for Book Arts at no additional cost.

As expected
Color: Gray/Gray/Digital
Just an old school digital timex. Tried and true. Has both 12hr and 24hr function on the time setting. Has a standard stop watch and timer. The battery is great, just as it always is on a timex. Good water resistance and very easy to use. Overall very good watch for the price!

Love the Timex Ironman Shock watches!!
Color: Black/Black/Digital
I really like the Timex Ironman Shock watches. They are very durable and reliable. Simple to use and modeled after the. Original Ironman watches of the late 80s and 90s. Buttons are clearly marked and easy to press. They used to make many colors of this Shock model of the watch inc a cool shiny red color my wife still has . I have been a runner many many years and at 65, am still out although a lot slower than my 20s. But Timex Ironman watches have. Been my constant companion on the roads and track for 35 years now.
