The hand-hammered texture adds a beautiful visual element to the surface of the 18k gold. The wide band gives the ring a nice presence on the hand and ample room for the 0.9 carat Old European Cut diamond to sparkle in all its glory. The stone has a rubover setting, and you can see that the hand-hammered texture forcibly sets the diamond in place. The texture adds a pretty faceting to the gold, in addition to the faceting that can be seen within the diamond , so the sparkle of the stone appears to fluidly continue across the surface of the gold. The ring has a low profile and is comfortable to wear, making it a great engagement ring or wedding band. This is sure to become a treasured piece.
The natural antique Old European Cut diamond is 6.3 mm in diameter and 3.8 mm in depth, for a TCW of 0.9 of a carat. It is H-I in color and VS2 in clarity. The diamond has a beautiful open culet.
The ring band measures 11.3 mm at its widest point and 4.25 mm at its narrowest point. It weighs 8.65 grams.
Size 6.5; sizable within reason.

Outstanding Book

Great book, a classic that seems more timely now than ever! First read Dr Akbar’s book years ago and bought this updated edition to replace the copy someone borrowed & never returned (another sign of a good book when they don’t get returned). So glad to have this new copy to revisit the deep wisdom and insights Dr Akbar lays out. He explains the painful & persistent psychological & sociological chains of slavery clearly and irrefutably. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to better understand why it’s so hard to heal the terrible wounds of slavery — even today, even generations past physical shackles....
