At Kelly Washington they seek unique and diverse parcels of high quality fruit, which they translate into their elegant and honest wines. Working with such exceptional fruit, their aim is to is to showcase and explore sub regionality of New Zealand's wine growing regions, but moreover making wines of provenance. In many cases, these special sites are farmed organically and bio-dynamically. Therefore it is important for winemakers to take these philosophies into the winery and beyond.

1 x Kelly Washington Rapaura Marlborough Chardonnay 2021

A refined style of Chardonnay. Delicate notes of white peach, melon and citrus are at the forefront, supported by savoury, toasty, nutty notes which are promoted by a mindful selection of French oak. Wholly complete yet with great aging potential, the KW Chardonnay brings together poise and elegance, and is defined by long, flinty finish.

100% whole bunch pressed with minimal settling. Fermentation commenced naturally after 7 days, on full lees, with native yeast in 100% French oak barriques -1 new, 2 on the third fill and 1 neutral puncheon. After fermentation, the wine remained on full lees in the French oak barriques for 10 months. It was then racked and blended. 100% natural Malolactic fermentation.

1 x Kelly Washington Southern Valleys Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Grown and made in a way that is atypical of Sauvignon Blanc from the region, the Kelly Washington Sauvignon Blanc subsequently has quite a unique expression. The hallmark of the wine is texture; thanks largely to aging on lees in the cement egg; yet the palate is vibrant and defined. There is a beautiful elderflower note that is felt on both the nose and palate. Overall, a very grown up and delicious Sauvignon Blanc!

A portion fermented in a small stainless steel tank ( 70%) and the balance ( 30%) fermented in, largely, old neutral barrels. 10 months on full lees, in a cement egg and neural barrels. The barrels were stirred monthly.
