The PawNest™ woven cat basket is a 35cm round nest bed hand-woven from natural rope — built low to the ground, with gently raised walls that give small cats the enclosed, secure feel they naturally gravitate towards. The two looped handles at the top form a pair of cat ear silhouettes, which makes the basket immediately recognisable on the shelf and looks quietly considered in the home.
Inside, a removable cotton cushion pad keeps the base comfortable and warm, and a knotted rope toy hangs from the handle loop on every variant. Choose from a Japanese-wave blue pattern or plain white cushion — and choose whether to add the matching bolster pillow. The basket itself is identical across all three variants; the difference is the cushion colour and whether the pillow is included.

The PawNest™ is sized for cats up to approximately 3kg — kittens, small adult cats, and petite breeds will find this the most comfortable fit. Larger cats may find the 35cm diameter a little snug.
Natural woven baskets can arrive slightly compressed from packaging. This is normal — the shape typically settles back with warmth and use over the first day or two. The rope dangling toy is designed for supervised play.

Is it the right size for my cat?
The basket is 35cm in diameter, which suits cats up to around 3kg — typically kittens and smaller adult cats, including breeds like Singapura, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex, and small domestic shorthairs. If your cat is regularly over 3kg, they may find it a tight fit and prefer a larger bed.
Which variant should I choose?
All three variants use the same woven basket. If you want a simple, clean nest with a cushion and no extras, the blue pad only variant is the right pick. If you'd like the bolster pillow for cats who like to rest their head against something, and the dangling rope toy for a bit of batting entertainment, choose either of the pillow variants — blue or white depending on which cushion colour suits the room better.
How do I clean it?
The cotton cushion pad is removable — take it out and spot clean or hand wash as needed. The woven basket itself is best wiped down with a damp cloth; avoid soaking the rope as this can affect the shape. We recommend allowing the basket to air dry fully before returning the cushion.
My basket arrived a bit compressed — is that normal?
Yes, completely normal. Natural woven rope baskets are quite flexible and can compress slightly during transit. Gently reshape the basket by hand and place it in a warm room — it typically settles back to its round shape over the first day or two as the rope relaxes with the warmth and with your cat sitting in it.
Is the rope toy safe?
The knotted rope toy is a supervised play accessory. As with any rope or string toy, we recommend using it during interactive play sessions rather than leaving it unattended for extended periods. The toy hangs from the handle loop and can be removed entirely if your cat prefers the basket as a quiet rest space only.
