How I Became A Wave is the solo project of Cork-based artist Pat Carey, formerly of the acclaimed indie band, The Hard Ground. Blending literary and natural world influences with lush strings and steel pedal guitars, the music of How I Became A Wave speaks to the soul through considered lyrics and quietly rousing melodies.

This is aggressively quiet music that by its very nature provides an antidote to the cacophony of today’s world.

Drawing inspiration from writers like Mary Oliver, Eavan Boland, Max Porter, Sylvia Plath, Seamus Heaney, Doireann Ní Ghríofa and Sara Baume, and musical influences such as Paul Buchanan, Bon Iver, Big Thief, Nils Frahm and Anaïs Mitchell, How I Became A Wave reflects on love, loss and the quiet significance of everyday moments.

How I Became A Wave’s forthcoming debut album features contributions from some of Ireland’s most respected musicians, including Carey’s former Hard Ground bandmates Davie Ryan and Hugh Dillon, pianist Rory McCarthy, cellists Laura McFadden and Aoife Burke, and multi- instrumentalist Brian Casey, among others. RTÉ Concert Orchestra composer Cormac McCarthy has arranged a number of pieces on the album. Each musician brings a quiet depth to the record, enriching its layered, reflective sound.

Live support slots with Joan Shelley, Lisa Hannigan, Villagers, Gemma Hayes, Niamh Regan, Ailbhe Reddy, John Spillane and more further cement

the quality of this project, demonstrating the backing it has received from some of the genre’s most respected artists. Festival appearances at Your Roots Are Showing, Quiet Lights and Sounds From A Safe Harbour have continued to build momentum, introducing the work to new audiences.

In addition to new single ‘Sea Swell’, the album features previously- released singles ‘05:00’, ‘Fading Out’ and ‘Cycles’, all of which have received strong support from the likes of RTÉ Radio 1, BBC Radio Ulster, Red FM, Galway Bay FM, The Irish Independent, Nialler9, Genuine Irish, Hot Press, Golden Plec and more.

How I Became A Wave was recently named in the Irish Independent’s Ones to Watch for 2026. They wrote: “Pat Carey makes music that quietly acknowledges the strength it takes to be vulnerable, and the comfort that comes from creativity and collaboration” – perfectly summing up the ethos of this project, which has been a long time in the making.

Good choice for sensitive skin
Size: 25 Count (Pack of 1)
I purchased this in preparation for a trip. I wanted to be able to clean my face while on a flight but have super sensitive skin so normal makeup wipes burn and cause a lot of irritation. These are very similar to baby wipes. They have virtually no scent and work relatively well in getting off sunscreen. I haven tried with makeup yet so I can’t speak on that. I used about 2 or 3 and my face didn’t burn at all. I think it’s a good choice for those who want the convenience of a makeup wipe but can’t use regular ones.

Very gentle, yet effective
Size: 25 Count (Pack of 1)
These are a great bang for your buck! My daughter struggles with her sensitive skin. These make up wipes are so soft and feels like a gentle clothe. No obnoxious smells, and resealable. Perfect for traveling. Her skin feels great after wiping off the most stubborn water proof make up. The price makes it a no brainer!

Gentle but very effective in removing all types of makeup
Size: 25 Count (Pack of 1)
I had been using a different brand of make up remover towelettes for years until one day I opened up a new pack and my eyes swelled up and my skin looked burned around my eyes . A waited a few days & tried it again and same thing - only worse . It seems that the manufacturer changed the formula ( why manufacturers insist on fixing something when it’s not broken is beyond me ). Anyway , I googled and read up on all kinds of make up remover towelets and took note that the Simple Kind to Skin seemed to have the best reviews . I tried them and have been using them ever since . They are non greasy which I love , extremely gentle on the skin but excellent on removing makeup even stubborn waterproof mascara . And they don’t dry out your skin . Good product . Note to manufacturer : please do not EVER change this formula .

Simple, durable, and a great buy for active dogs. 🐕🎾
Size: 3 PCS, Size: 3 PCS
These are exactly what I look for in a simple dog toy. The balls are made from a durable rubber material that feels sturdy enough for regular play, while still having enough give to be safe and comfortable for dogs to carry in their mouths. They bounce well, are easy to throw, and have held up nicely during play sessions. I also like the bright colors. The orange, blue, and yellow make them easy to spot in grass, at the park, or in the backyard, which means less time searching and more time playing. The textured surface gives dogs something easy to grip, and the size works well for medium to larger dogs. They feel much more substantial than the bargain-bin tennis balls that seem to fall apart after a few outings. Perhaps the best part is the value. For the price, getting three durable rubber balls is a great deal. Dog toys can get expensive quickly, and this set provides a lot of entertainment without costing much. Overall, these are durable, colorful, fun, and appear safe for everyday play. Combined with the very reasonable price point, they represent an excellent value for dog owners.
