Understanding the Cubist Movement: A Contextual Background
The Birth of Cubism: Key Figures and Influences
Cubism emerged in the early 20th century, revolutionizing the art world. Pioneered by artists like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, this movement broke traditional perspectives. It emphasized fragmented forms and multiple viewpoints, challenging how we perceive reality. Juan Gris, often called the father of Synthetic Cubism, played a crucial role in this evolution. His innovative approach combined elements of collage and painting, creating a new visual language.Juan Gris: The Master of Synthetic Cubism
Juan Gris, born in 1887 in Madrid, became a leading figure in the Cubist movement. His works, including "Violin with Fruit," showcase his unique ability to blend color and form. Unlike his contemporaries, Gris focused on clarity and structure, making his compositions more accessible. His background in engineering influenced his precise geometric shapes, setting him apart in the art community. Gris's dedication to Cubism helped solidify its place in modern art history.Violin with Fruit: A Deep Dive into the Composition

A must read for Kylo fans
Format: Kindle
I'm so sad this was only about 100 pages. This gave clarity to the choppy movie origin story of Kylo Ren while filling some major movie plot holes. Angsty, heart wrenching and dark -- the perfect intro for our favorite emo space boy. The art style was really great without being too gory. Adam Driver fans will also be pretty pleased with the likeness (it's not exact, but still good).

Really good read, and leaves questions
Format: Paperback
Nice to see the Ben Solo story flushed out more than what was shown in The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker. A good job also of not explaining everything. Ben mentions something about what Skywalker did to Snoke, and then there's the Emperor himself speaking to Ben in his mind, which makes one wonder, if even the Emperor was his own voice in Ben's head, why didn't Kylo recognize him in The Rise Of Skywalker. Plenty of things left to really expand upon this very good story.
