Cokin P Series Solid and Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit with P Series Filter Holder and Adapter Rings

This Cokin P Series Neutral Density Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your photography. The included filters consist of an 84 x 84mm solid neutral density filter as well as two 84 x 100mm graduated neutral density filters.

The included solid neutral density filter is an ND filter with a 4x filter factor that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Graduated neutral density filters can be used to prevent overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The included graduated neutral density filters reduce the amount of light entering a lens by up to two and three stops respectively. Additionally, they feature a hard-edged line of transition between their dense and clear areas. A graduated neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which have defined horizon lines.

Together, these filters provide a versatile solution for various lighting conditions. To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, this kit contains a filter holder for rectangular filters that are 84mm wide and 1.6mm thick. Four Cokin P-Series lens adapter rings are provided to connect that filter holder to a lens that features 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, or 62mm front filter threads. Other lens adapter rings are separately-available for lenses with different-sized front filter threads. Each filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

• P-Series Filter Holder

  The Cokin Creative Filter System consists of a rectangular plastic filter holder with four slots (one for Cokin rotating filters and three for rectangular ones), a variety of optional adapter rings which click into place and rotate, and many optical resin filters.

  There are two Cokin sizes, "A" & "P". The "A" series is adequate for 35mm cameras and camcorders and fits filter sizes from 36-62mm. The "P" series covers diameters from 48-82mm and is generally preferred for everything, particularly wide angle lenses. Over 100 filters and a wide range of accessories are available for each system, i.e. modular lens hoods, lens caps, and storage boxes.

  The Cokin 84 x 84mm 0.6 Neutral Density 153 Filter is a solid ND filter providing a 2 stop exposure reduction. This 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
  
  Cokin filters are constructed from CR-39 organic glass and are notably light in weight, have a high resistance to shocks and drops, and provide optimum light transmission for high image quality. This filter measures 3.3 x 3.3" / 84 x 84mm and is compatible with the Cokin P filter holder.

  0.6 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

  Providing a 2 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

  Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.

  This Cokin P Series Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter is designed for use with a Cokin P Series Filter Holder. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines.
