COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Visiting Care Recipients Residences course. In this program we will explore the essential practices and protocols involved in conducting visits to clients' homes. As professionals in the care industry, visiting clients in their residences is a vital aspect of our role in providing personalised and comprehensive support.

Throughout this course, we will cover a wide range of topics to ensure that your visits are conducted efficiently, safely, and ethically. From scheduling visits to assessing security risks, from communicating effectively with clients to addressing ethical dilemmas, you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of home visits with confidence.

First and foremost, we will emphasise the importance of establishing clear communication with the client to agree on the time of the visit and confirm their consent. Reviewing the client's record beforehand will provide valuable insights into their history, unexpected issues, and specific needs, enabling you to tailor your visit accordingly.

Preparation is key to a successful visit. You will learn how to prepare equipment, resources, and documents required for the purpose of the visit, as well as contingencies for unforeseen circumstances. Taking precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of others, including assessing security factors and controlling infection risks, will be thoroughly covered.

Respecting the client and their residence is paramount. We will discuss strategies for demonstrating respect, sensitivity, and cultural awareness during visits, as well as engaging appropriately with other occupants in the residence in accordance with organisational policies and work health and safety standards.

Furthermore, we will address various issues relevant to visiting different types of residences, including basic home fire safety and applicable legislation. Understanding the legal and ethical requirements, as well as organisational policies and procedures, will guide your practice and decision-making throughout the visit.

In challenging situations, you will learn how to deal with ethical dilemmas, behaviours of concern, and difficult circumstances according to organisational protocols. Identifying health issues or areas of concern and promptly referring them to the supervisor will ensure timely intervention and support for the client.

By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical considerations necessary to conduct visits to client residences with professionalism, empathy, and effectiveness.

This course is designed to align with the content outlined in the Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency CHCCCS037.

Really help soothe redness and speed up healing
I've been using these patches for a while now and I'm very happy with them - they're virtually invisible on the skin, stay on well and really help soothe redness and speed up healing.

My kid loves them!
My kid loves these. They also said they like that, unlike some other ones, they can see underneath it somewhat to tell when its more ready to come off.

Love this entire skincare line
We love this product! I have a teenage daughter who uses it and absolutely raves about it. We use the entire line, including the facial cleanser, toner, and more. Everything about these products has been great—effective, gentle, and high quality. Highly recommend!

Works great, just no different from any other pimple patch on the market
These pimple patches by Thayers are made from 100% hydrocolloid and definitely work in terms of helping speed up the pimple healing process. These pimple patches work best when your pimple is ripe enough. If you stick these pimple patches on when your pimples are not ripe enough yet, they will not do anything, and it would be a waste of a pimple sticker. You know when your pimple is ripe when it comes to a head and has that little white spot. When it's ripe, I would stick this pimple patch overnight and typically by the time I wake up, the pimple patch will have absorbed all the gunk from my pimple. You will know that it worked if you see your pimple patch turn white. Sometimes it might take an extra night for the gunk to come out. When you stick these pimple patches on, make sure your face is freshly washed without any face products or else they won't stick as well. Given what the Thayers brand is known for (natural remedies and herbal extracts), I would think that they would infuse some natural ingredients into this pimple patch to help speed up the healing process even more. But to my disappointment, they did not add any additional active ingredient to this pimple patch despite what their brand stands for so I took off a star.

Great for my teen
We love Thayers everything. They work so great and they truly are invisible. My daughter can wear them to school and not even realize they’re on her face.
