Description

The smallest in our brand new Evergreen family of lamps, the Juniper Oil Lamp casts a warm glow that makes for utterly unique ambience in any room, indoor or out. Many people love to illuminate their homes and patios with these gorgeous works of art (that also happen to come in handy during a power outage)! The Evergreeen family consists of the Evergreen Oil Lamp (large), Spruce Oil Lamp (medium), and Juniper Oil Lamp (small).

The elegant curves in this piece remind us of the conifers that grace our Vermont countryside. The hammered ring around the base glimmers and sparkles in any lighting.

All our lamps have adjustable flame settings so that you can choose how bright you want your light on any given night. Many people love to gift our oil lamps for weddings, anniversaries, housewarming, thank you, life achievement, and other momentous occasions. They make a lovely replacement for candles because they burn cleanly and do not flicker. Use them for special ceremonies, cocktail parties, family board game nights...any occasion will do!

Dimensions & Specifications

Each oil lamp is spun individually by hand by one of our talented pewter spinners. For this reason, all dimensions are approximate. Subtle variations are natural.

  • Holds about 4 ounces of oil. Oil burns at approximately 3 hours per ounce (based on our smokeless liquid paraffin oil).
  • The total height (base, burner, and glass chimney) measures about 7 ¼ inches high.

Well written informative engaging and evocative
Format: Kindle
I've walked to Santiago twice, in 2016 at 65 from St. Jean and in 2019 from Le Puy and bought the book during the pandemic as I waxed nostalgic for the weeks on the road under load with beer bread and bed waiting each afternoon. Beth did a marvelous job of capturing her Camino and much of mine. I can see some of the sights again, the sunrises, the amazing stonework, the clothes drying in the afternoons, the passers by, the cultivated for centuries and still natural landscapes. I almost again feel the foot pain, the rain , the sun, the climbs, the descents, the hot cold on off showers, and the hugs. She helped me again hear the news from Radio Camino, the snoring in the gites and albergues, songs on the road, and the slightly tipsy and slightly loud cafe conversations. I could smell the the morning coffee bowl, the cheeses, the pastries, the animal dropping. And she helped me remember speedy young pilgrims, poor and semi-prosperous middle age Spaniards, paths that were old when followed by Charlemagne, D'Artagnan, and Roman legionnaires, and friends, companions and acquaintancesof all ages and duration. Very well done. Thank you Beth. Buen Camino...

Entertaining and informative
Format: Kindle
Walking the Camino has been on my bucket list for about 10 years and enjoy reading these types of books. Perhaps because of Justino's background, this is by far the most interesting and entertaining Camino story I've read. For me, it is just the right mix of her daily hiking experience along with a little historical background for context. Her subtle, sometimes self-degrading, humor is a bonus. At the end of the book she provided her daily destinations and miles walked along with a packing list which is something I wish more authors would provide. I'm in my 60's now and beginning to doubt if I will ever make the walk but after reading this book I'm still hoping.

An amazing adventure
Format: Paperback
I read this book because I’ve walked a very small portion of the Camino and was interested in what an additional 900 miles would be like. Beth’s descriptions of the day-to-day challenges did not motivate me to find out for myself, but I was very glad to experience it through her. “Walking” was well written in that I felt as though I had actually met all the interesting people along the way and shared their conversations and meals and beers. When Beth and Eric finally reached the end, I could actually feel their bittersweet finale. I highly recommend this book because it shares not only useful information if you decide to walk the Camino, but it also shares what Beth describes as a huge part of the experience, the camaraderie of all involved.

A Very Enjoyable "Glad it was you!" Story
Format: Paperback
I had a great time reading this outloud to my husband by the electric fireplace while Beth and her husband treked across France and Spain in all kinds of weather and discomfort. The journey was captivating, lovely, and hilarious all at the same time. As Beth mentions, it was not a "walk in the park" and there were many times I was glad to NOT be in her shoes, even though I envied her escaping the daily technilogical rat race we all struggle with. It did leave me wanting to go on a hike...in the sunshine....on level ground....nearby. I highly recommended the book for stress relief and enjoyable reading.
