Safer, Faster, Cheaper Than Wax Dipping

If you’ve ever wax-dipped a batch of beehive boxes, you’ll know the routine: set up the dip tank, heat the wax to over 150°C, manage the splashes, watch for fire risks, and wait hours for boxes to cool and dry. It’s the traditional way to prepare hive boxes for the Australian weather — and for generations, it’s been the only way until now.

HiveCoat Bee Box Primer is the modern Australian-made alternative. Developed and refined over 5 years of field trials on more than 300 commercial hives, HiveCoat is a nano-particle polymer primer that protects your hive boxes against rot, moisture, and UV damage — without the heat, fumes, or fire risk of traditional wax dipping. Just brush, spray, or cold-dip your boxes at room temperature, let them dry, and you’re ready to assemble your hives. The result: boxes that last longer, beekeepers who work safer, and apiaries that stay productive for decades.

What is HiveCoat Bee Box Primer?

HiveCoat is a nano-particle polymer primer specifically formulated for protecting wooden beehive boxes. The technology penetrates deep into the timber grain, sealing the end-grain edges where rot typically starts, then forms a tough, flexible barrier across the entire surface. This barrier repels moisture, blocks UV radiation, and withstands the constant expansion-and-contraction cycles that crack and warp untreated boxes. After 5 years of trials on over 300 commercial hives, results have been clear: timber stays sealed, boxes resist rotting, and — importantly — bees don’t strip the coating off.

Why Choose HiveCoat Over Wax Dipping?

Wax dipping has been the standard hive protection method for generations, but it comes with serious drawbacks. You need a dedicated dip tank, hot wax, fuel, time, and strict safety precautions. One spilled splash of hot wax can cause severe burns. The fumes are unpleasant. Equipment is expensive. And the whole process can swallow half a day per batch. HiveCoat eliminates every one of these issues. There’s no heating, no flame, no scalding wax — just a simple cold application that works for hobbyists treating five boxes and commercial operators preparing 500 alike.

Will Bees Strip the Coating Off?

This is the most common question we get — and one of HiveCoat’s greatest strengths. No, bees do not strip HiveCoat off the boxes. This was rigorously confirmed across 5 years of trials on 300+ working hives. Anyone who’s tried unsuitable paints or finishes on hive boxes knows the frustration of watching bees chew the coating away within weeks. HiveCoat is engineered specifically for beehive use, so the bees leave it alone and get on with the business of drawing comb, raising brood, and making honey.

How Do I Apply HiveCoat?

HiveCoat is built around flexibility — three application methods, all at room temperature. Brush application is perfect for hobbyists treating a small batch of boxes with full control. Spray application suits sideliners wanting fast, even coverage across more boxes. Cold dip is the favourite of commercial beekeepers — fill a tank with HiveCoat at room temperature, dip each box, and let it dry. Whichever method suits your setup, the application is dramatically faster, safer, and cheaper than the wax-dipping alternative.

How Much Coverage Will I Get?

As a guide, 1 litre of HiveCoat treats approximately 3 to 4 beehive boxes. HiveCoat is sold in 1L and 5L sizes — the 5L jug covers around 15 to 20 boxes, making it ideal for sideliners and small commercial operations. For larger commercial orders over 100 litres, contact our team for tailored bulk pricing.

Who Is HiveCoat For?

HiveCoat suits any beekeeper preparing new wooden hive boxes for outdoor use. Commercial beekeepers love it for the dramatic time and labour savings compared to wax dipping. Sideliners appreciate the affordability and scalability. Hobbyists find it dramatically easier than setting up a wax-dipping operation for just a handful of boxes. Whether you have a backyard apiary, a growing sideliner setup, or a serious commercial operation — HiveCoat fits seamlessly into your workflow.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.

Vale is an 8 month pregnant omega working as a waitress at a strip club and a cam girl. She starts to get very creepy vibes from a regular at the club, and her baby daddy ghosted her. She has had an online relationship with a man named Bishop through her cam girl status. One night, bishop was paying to watch her sleep and ansthe creepy regular Andrew break in and watch her sleep he tells vale to come to him at his business now. She flees and finds herself at a large security company with some.hot of alphas who are there to help her. This imegaverse is a little different than I have read, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Vale is not a traditional omega she was raised by a single beta mom, and the alphas are not normal alphas they have never really loved pack life. But they are ruthless mercenaries. They need her, and she needs them. I love the aspect of the stalker and now the plot twists at the end, so so good. Sometimes, it seemed a little slow and stale mated, but since this a duet, I think It was just her starting to have Vale get to know her alpha suitors. Cliffhanger for sure with this one.

That ending 😫
Format: Kindle
I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol

I just knew there was something about Cooper! I’m wondering if he’s about to be included but damn I’m glad he’s at least not a rapist and creepy guy, he just got called on assignment and had to go! This should be interesting! She’s gonna run and then what’s his face is gonna grab her. I’m worried! Wow that was a great book and cliffhanger! Loving this!

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
