Package Contents

This kit includes the following component:

  • 1 x Water Pump Impeller (17400-93J02)

Note: This is a basic impeller kit. For a complete repair, gaskets, seals, and a wear plate may be required. Please verify if you need a full kit for your service.

Installation Guide

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and shift the outboard into neutral gear.
  2. Unbolt and remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard's main housing. Be prepared to support its weight.
  3. Locate the water pump housing on top of the gearcase and remove its mounting bolts.
  4. Lift the water pump housing off and slide the old impeller up and off the driveshaft. Note the direction of the vanes for reinstallation.
  5. Clean the housing and driveshaft surfaces. Install any new gaskets or the wear plate if included in your kit.
  6. Apply a small amount of marine grease to the inside of the pump housing and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft.
  7. Rotate the driveshaft in its normal direction of operation (typically clockwise) to correctly orient the impeller vanes inside the housing.
  8. Reinstall the water pump housing cover and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
  9. Carefully guide the lower unit back into position, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
  10. Secure the lower unit with its mounting bolts and reconnect the battery.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this kit fits my specific engine?

A: Check your engine model and year against the compatibility tables above. It is crucial to also verify the OEM part number (17400-93J02 for Suzuki, 5035036 for Johnson/Evinrude) listed for your model. This kit is confirmed to fit non-"A" Suzuki models from 2004 and up.

Q: What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?

A: Common signs include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or non-existent water stream from the "tell-tale" outlet, and an audible alarm from the engine's warning system.

Q: How often should the water pump impeller be replaced?

A: For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation, depending on usage conditions (e.g., saltwater vs. freshwater).

Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?

A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?

A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?

A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

HOLY CRAP!!!!
So my 2005 Durango has a 5.7 and I put on 253,000 miles on it before it blew a head gasket. Since it was summer, iI decided I'd tackle it myself. The upper end was so full of gunk, I can't believe I hadn't had serious issues. Anyway, I apparently dropped some pieces of crud down the oil channels, 'cuz after putting it all back together, I got alarms for low oil pressure. Figuring I'd try anything else before replacing the oil pump, i gave this stuff a try. WOW!!!! Not only did the oil pressure return, the engine runs SO much smoother! I had forgotten how smooth it ran when it was new. The caveat is that apparently the gunk was the only thing keeping some areas from leaking - as it lost oil at a startling rate. 1 bottle of the Liqui Oil Saver though, and within a week the oil leaks completely stopped.

Awesome!!
Had a check engine light come on for cam shaft position. Did some research online about the specific code and found that I could be due to sludge in the engine. Added this and ran for about 30 minutes and then had the oil changed. The light never came back on and the engine is running smooth and quiet. Will definitely use again.
