In 2022, Montblanc honors one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century who is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music: Jimi Hendrix. Made from precious resin the off-white color of the cap, inspired by Hendrix's "Olypmic white" Stratocaster, is engraved with a pattern inspired by one of his straps, while the platinum-coated clip is angled to resemble the vibrato bar of an electric guitar and decorated with the words "Are You Experienced" at the clip top. The cap top is crowned by the Montblanc snowcap and an embossing of the finger positioning for the opening of "Purple Haze," along with a violet ring around the captop.
The black barrel features an elegant pattern resembling a WAH pedal and the platinum-coated barrel ring (engraved with the date of his infamous Monterey Pop Festival performance, 18-06-1967) draws inspiration from a 1960´s Fender guitar cable. The word "WAH" repeats around the cone at the base of the barrel, and a red precious resin inlay inspired by the pilot light of a Marshall Super Lead amplifier.
The pen sports a handcrafted, rhodium-coated Au 585 solid gold nib decorated with a portait of Hendrix.
