How to Use

1. Unroll and center the blanket near the vehicle.

2. Two trained responders (in full PPE and breathing apparatus) each grab a handle and pull the blanket smoothly over the vehicle.

3. Ensure full coverage — all the way to the ground with no air gaps.

4. In windy conditions, use four people and secure the blanket around the vehicle with a rope at floor level to prevent lifting.

Tip: Keep the blanket on the vehicle for at least 20 minutes, and continue to monitor temperatures with a thermal camera.
For EVs, since thermal runaway can continue up to 48 hours, maintain the blanket for at least 1 hour after propagation ends.

Transport & Post-Fire Handling

• Keep the blanket on during towing, secured with straps at ground level.

• Do not use water — lithium-ion batteries produce oxygen during thermal runaway, making water unsafe.

• After suppression, drag the blanket away using proper PPE and respiratory protection.

• If reusing:

  • Allow to fully dry before repacking.

  • Minor damage (holes under 1 cm) is acceptable.
