COURSE OVERVIEW:

welcome to the course, Provide Clients with Loss & Grief Support. This program is designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals experiencing loss, grief, bereavement, and trauma. This course will explore various aspects of loss and grief, covering a wide spectrum of situations and potential impacts at individual clients, family, and community levels.

In Section A, we will delve into the diverse spectrum of loss situations, including primary, secondary, cumulative, and integrated loss, while also exploring the potential impacts of grief, bereavement, and trauma. Understanding the features and expressions of grief, including complex and disenfranchised grief, will be essential, along with recognising reactions indicating the risk of suicide and the required responses.

Furthermore, this section will address the impact of loss, grief, and bereavement on social and emotional health and well-being, considering social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual differences in responses to loss. Strategies and communication techniques for formal and informal grief and bereavement support will be explored, along with self-care strategies and support services for workers. Additionally, legal and ethical considerations in individual practice and organisational settings will be highlighted.

In Section B, participants will learn how to recognise reactions to loss and grief, taking into account social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual differences. They will also be equipped to identify situations where there may be a risk to the health and safety of individuals and make appropriate referrals. Interacting with individuals with empathy, sensitivity, professionalism, and courtesy will be emphasised, along with providing information about grief and bereavement support services and resources.

Moreover, participants will learn to identify individuals experiencing difficulty in coping with grief and trauma and link them to options for further help as needed. Maintaining confidentiality, monitoring stress levels, and recognising and minimising risks associated with grief and bereavement support will also be covered. Reflecting on outcomes and continuously reviewing practices for improvement will be integral parts of this section.

Furthermore, in Section B, participants will learn how to respond effectively to diverse situations of loss, grief, bereavement, or trauma, engaging with people using effective communication skills such as empathic listening, verbal and non-verbal techniques, providing information clearly and sensitively, and obtaining feedback to confirm understanding.

By the end of this course, participants will have gained the knowledge and skills necessary to provide compassionate and effective support to individuals experiencing loss, grief, bereavement, and trauma, fostering healing and resilience in their journey toward recovery.

This course is designed to align with the content outlined in the Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency CHCCCS017.

Nice shoes!
Size: 11, Color: Black Full Grain
I bought them in black and I like them so much I will be buying the brown soon. They fit true to size and are comfortable and stylish. I like the clean simplicity. They're basically a dressy sneaker which is perfect for my job's 'dress code'. Yet they're stylish enough to be worn weekends or a night out. They seemed just a touch stiff out of the box but IMO that's completely normal and fine - after just a couple days of wearing them they are breaking in nicely. No complaints on that. They seem to be of very high quality and I'm very happy with them.
