The waterproof neoprene cover also acts as a thermal barrier, making the lens more comfortable to handle in both hot and cold temperatures. The cover is easy to install and remove, sliding on like a sleeve and leaving no residue on the lens. It has clear, flexible PVC windows over the AF and IS controls and the distance scale. A small hole lines up with the camera's mount indicator to make quick, easy work of aligning the lens with the mount.
