The black 2017 edition of Zeiss Optics' 8x32 Terra ED Binocular features a redesigned ergonomic chassis that makes holding them more comfortable, especially during long glassing sessions. Optically, they retain the exceptional elements that are the hallmarks of the Terra ED including compact Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms, SCHOTT extra low-dispersion (ED) glass, and the proprietary multi-coatings. These complementary technologies and elements work together to produce an immersive observational experience that presents clear and bright views, despite the relatively small objectives, with accurate color representation and virtually zero distortion across the entire wide field of view.

The comfortable ergonomic chassis is made of a fiberglass reinforced polycarbonate to help reduce weight, without sacrificing strength while adding impact and temperature resistance. Being resistant to temperature changes not only ensures that the housing will remain a constant temperature, even in cold and wet conditions, but will not experience the expansion and contraction common in metal chassis that can cause the optical elements to move out of alignment over time and preventing the binocular's ability to achieve sharp focus. The chassis is covered in a black rubber armoring that helps to protect it from drops and impacts, and provides a slip-resistant grip.

Optical Performance
  • 8x magnification
  • 32mm objective lenses
  • Roof prism optical path
  • The compact Schmidt-Pechan prism design corrects the view while allowing for thinner optical tubes versus the more common Abbe-Koenig design
  • SCHOTT ED glass elements reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations to produce views with true color rendition without halos, diffraction, or distortion across the entire field of view
  • Zeiss proprietary hydrophobic multi-coated optics sheds dust, dirt, and oils while improving light transmission, color rendition, sharpness, and contrast
  • Short 5.25 foot close focus distance
  • Wide 61° apparent angle of view
  • 442-foot field of view at 1000 yards
  • Long 16.5mm eye relief
  • Comfortable 4mm exit pupil
Use and Handling
  • Closed-bridge configuration
  • Large fast-focus center wheel
  • ±3 right-eye dioptric correction
  • 56-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Twist-up click-stop rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear

A Lovely Art Book for those Who Love Pixel Art from RPGs
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Growing up playing NES & SNES games, I love pixel/sprite art. Featuring pixel art from Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VI, this book has various types of pixel art including sprite sheets of different poses & walk cycles, backgrounds, monsters, and pixels of characters if they were done in 2018. There’s even pixel art from Final Fantasy VII to Final Fantasy XV. My ONLY complaint is that even though the book I got came in plastic wrap, somehow a couple of pages have creases. But since the creases are light, I’m gonna let that slide. All in all, this is a must have for those who love the Final Fantasy games from the NES and/or SNES era or those who love pixel art in general.

STELLAR
Format: Hardcover
Highest quality print. I ordered this book during the early part of the 2020 pandemic. When it arrived I was so happy. The images were comforting during a time of great stress in our world. It reminded me that Final Fantasy has been a tremendous part of my life. I'm grateful for the effort put into this book, which was in part a preview of the Pixel Remasters that came later. Brilliant.

Amazing book, but unnecessary
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I would give this book 5 stars, but at the end of the day I don't think I can. I love flipping through it and looking at the color palettes and seeing the ways the artists communicated ideas through their limited palettes and spaces. There are also little 3D paper arts you can do of some of the sprites, like the fountain pictured above. It has helped me in my pixel art journey and it could 100% help you. The only reason I would say not to buy it is because all of the sprites are accessible online. If you want to understand the art on a deeper level and develop an appreciation for the passion that pixel art contains, buy it. If you want to look at them quickly as references and are an experienced pixel artist, it is not as useful, you could learn the rules just by looking at the sprites online, but you would miss the explanations and writings that help explain the art.
