The Influence of Expressionism in Munch's Work

Edvard Munch, a pioneer of Expressionism, infused his art with deep emotional resonance. "Head of a Dog" exemplifies this movement, showcasing raw feelings through vivid imagery. Munch's ability to convey psychological depth through color and form sets him apart from his contemporaries.

Historical Background: Munch's Life and Artistic Journey

Born in 1863 in Norway, Munch faced personal tragedies that shaped his artistic vision. His mother died of tuberculosis when he was just five, leaving a profound impact on his psyche. This early loss influenced his exploration of themes like love, anxiety, and existential dread, which are evident in "Head of a Dog." Munch's travels across Europe, particularly in Paris, exposed him to various artistic movements, further enriching his style.

Munch's color palette in "Head of a Dog" is striking and intentional. He uses bold, contrasting colors to evoke feelings of isolation and companionship. The deep blacks and vibrant yellows create a sense of urgency, drawing viewers into the emotional landscape of the painting.

Brushwork Techniques: Capturing Emotion Through Texture

Munch's brushwork is both expressive and deliberate. He employs thick, textured strokes that add depth and movement to the dog's head. This technique not only captures the physicality of the subject but also conveys the emotional weight behind it, inviting viewers to connect on a deeper level.

Helps my moisturizer absorb better
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I’m not quite sure if the product is fully working the way it is supposed to but I do like that when I use this and the apply moisturizer, it absorbs into my skin better and leaves my skin smoother and a lot less greasy. It’s easy to throw in my travel bag because of the size and you really only just need a little for each use so it goes a long way got the cost.

Brightens, doesn't firm
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I've been using this for about a month now, every night on my face and neck, hoping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and tighten some of my skin in that area that seems to be losing elasticity. On my neck, I've honestly noticed no real difference in 4 weeks of continued, consistent daily use. The skin on my face does seem brighter and somewhat less textured than before, but I haven't noticed any change in the issues I was hoping this would resolve, based on the claims and how it was marketed. So... not a bad addition to my skincare, but not the solution I was looking for. Some have expressed concerns about it tingling or stinging... You can feel something when you apply it, it's almost like the feeling of static electricity, but it's very mild. I wouldn't let that stop you from giving it a try if you were concerned about it. It didn't cause my sensitive skin any breakouts or redness (although I was applying it at night before bed, so perhaps any redness was calmed overnight). I'm going to go ahead and finish the bottle, but based on these results, I probably won't repurchase.

Helped Tighten My Skin & Minimize Pores
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule, Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I’ve loved the Dr. Melaxin Cyano Pink Spicule Serum! The bottle is small, but it lasted me around 6 months since I only use one pump every other night. When I first started using it, I noticed a tingling sensation, but over time my skin adjusted and I barely notice it now. I’ve definitely seen my pores appear smaller and my skin feels tighter and smoother after using it.
