Description

Orchestrally-conceived, full of energetic vigor, and at times uncompromisingly modern: The two captivating quartets are now available as Urtext editions.

With his first String Quartet in D Minor , Op. 77, composed in 1855, the native Swiss composer Joachim Raff bid a brilliant farewell to Weimar. He had been there as Franz Liszt's assistant since 1850 and had made a name for himself in the city's art scene – now he embarked on new paths. He composed his second Quartet in A Major , Op. 90, already in 1857 in Wiesbaden, the spa town that was to become his home for 21 years.

The two quartets are unequivocal works: orchestrally-conceived, full of energetic vigor, and at times uncompromisingly modern. They confidently continue the Beethoven tradition and attest at the same time to Raff's intensive confrontation with Richard Wagner's music during the Weimar years. in his chamber music, the composer wanted to achieve progress "in an inherently historical way" and "to ground the individual substance in existing forms," as he told the Viennese violinist Josef Hellmesberger, who launched opus 77. The quartets, first published in 1860/62, found illustrious interpreters, among them, the Müller brothers' renowned ensemble, to which opus 90 was also dedicated, and Joseph Joachim.

Works:

  • String Quartet No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 77

Keeps them happy.
Style: Bunny
The interactive aspect is perfect: I squeak it to get her attention for fetch, she enjoys a solo dental chew session gnawing on the durable ears and body, and then we play tug-of-war with the long rope legs. It satisfies all her instincts in one cute, bunny-shaped package. The material is soft on her gums but tough enough to withstand serious chewing. Her teeth look cleaner and she's happily worn out. Total win!

Stuffless dog toy! Good buy 😊
Style: Bunny
My dog loves to tear her toys apart usually it’s to get all of the stuffing out. Lol so we decided to try some toys without the stuffing and this was definitely a good buy. She loves it. Very soft and she has not ruined it in almost 3 months. Very cute toy and happy with the company would buy again. Quality is very strong for a dog that tears toys up in a day. lol🤣

Tough Bunny
Style: Bunny
So far so good. We’ve been able to play tug-of-war with it several times and it’s not ripped apart. That’s why I gave it 5 stars. My dog has big teeth and a strong body. So this bunny is tough Only time will tell if it’s really worth the money

Hard to Destroy
Style: Bunny
My puppy hasn’t been able to destroy it yet. All other toys have only lasted about 10 minutes.
