COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Build Healthy Relationships with Children course. In this course we will explore essential principles and strategies for fostering positive and respectful interactions with children aged birth to 6 years. This course is designed to equip educators and carers with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish nurturing relationships that support children's emotional well-being, social development, and overall growth.

Throughout this course, we will delve into various topics related to communication, relationships, and behaviour guidance in early childhood education and care settings. Let's take a closer look at the key components of this course:

We will examine effective techniques for communicating positively and respectfully during interactions with children between the ages of birth and 6 years. Understanding the importance of language choice, tone, and non-verbal cues in fostering trust and connection with young children will be emphasised.

You will learn a range of strategies for facilitating effective communication in various interactions with young children. From transitioning between activities to guiding behaviour using a strengths-based approach, we will explore practical techniques to enhance communication in early childhood settings.

Understanding the requirements of the National Quality Standard and related regulations/laws, particularly in the context of building relationships with children, is crucial for maintaining high-quality early childhood education and care services. We will discuss how compliance with these standards contributes to the well-being of children and families.

We will explore the significance of partnerships with families, communities, and other stakeholders in promoting positive outcomes for children. Emphasising collaboration and community engagement, we will discuss strategies for fostering strong relationships beyond the classroom.

Recognising the importance of positive and respectful relationships for children's social-emotional development, we will delve into the characteristics and features of nurturing relationships between educators and children. We will also explore ways to provide support and guidance to educators in cultivating these relationships.

Understanding children's emotional development is essential for effectively supporting their well-being and behaviour. We will examine key principles and stages of emotional development in early childhood, as well as strategies for promoting emotional resilience and self-regulation.

Exploring basic aspects of positive communication models, we will discuss how individual educator cultural beliefs and practices can influence communication with children. Emphasising cultural competence and sensitivity, we will explore strategies for fostering inclusive and respectful communication in diverse settings.

We will delve into the strengths-based approach to guiding children's behaviour, focusing on recognising and reinforcing positive behaviours while supporting children's social and emotional growth. Practical techniques and strategies for implementing this approach will be explored in detail.

Examining the factors influencing children's behaviour, we will explore the impact of group dynamics, peer relationships, and environmental factors on children's behaviour. Strategies for promoting positive interactions and addressing challenging behaviours within group settings will be discussed.

so uncomfortable
Size: 9, Color: Champagne
These shoes are cute but UNCOMFORTABLE. The toe thong makes them impossible to wear. I wore them for 5 minutes just trying them on and my feet hurt as I’m writing this. Couldn’t recommend less. Plus, the holes that the strap fits through aren’t lined up properly and are difficult to poke through. Felt like I got the made in china version.
