Get up close and personal with the 1:1 magnification ratio of the full-frame compatible FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens for Sony's E-Mount mirrorless cameras. Optimized for macro shooting, this medium telephoto lens utilizes an aspherical element along with extra-low dispersion and super extra-low dispersion glass in order to create sharp imagery with minimal aberration. Also, it has a Nano AR Coating that suppresses reflections and allows for efficient light transmission for clear photographs.
Its maximum aperture of f/2.8 is effective when shooting in low light and allows for shallow depth-of-field focus. An internal focus system in which only the middle optical groups move when focusing provides fast autofocus action and a short minimum focus distance of 11". Also, the lens does not extend when focusing and the front end does not rotate. The Direct Drive Super Sonic Wave AF motor employs piezoelectric elements oscillating at ultrasonic frequencies to drive the focus lens with accuracy and near-silence. The focus ring slides back and forth to select manual or auto focus and with a focus hold button and focus limiter switch, the lens offers precise control of where you place focus.
An optical image stabilization system uses gyro sensors to detect camera movement and quiet linear motors to shift the stabilization lens for blur control that is very helpful when shooting macro and/or in low light. Nine circular aperture blades create a unique diaphragm design that is almost perfectly circular throughout its aperture range and thus helps to create pleasing out-of-focus highlights. Finally, a handsome and sturdy build with a dust and moisture resistant design contributes to the overall quality and durability of this fine optic.
- Full-Frame E-Mount Telephoto Macro Lens
- A 90mm prime telephoto lens with 1:1 macro capability, it provides an f/2.8 maximum aperture for low light effectiveness and shallow depth of field control. Compatible with full-frame E-Mount cameras, it can also be used on APS-C E-Mount cameras with an angle of view equivalent to a 135mm lens in the 35mm/full-frame format.
- Internal Focusing
- Only the middle groups of the optical system move to achieve focus, so the overall length of the lens does not change. Other important benefits include fast autofocus and a short minimum focusing distance. Also, the filter thread at the front of the lens does not rotate, which is convenient if you're using a polarizing filter.
- Focus Hold Button
- Once you've adjusted focus to where you want it, pressing this button on the lens barrel will keep the lens locked to that focusing distance. The preview function can also be assigned to this button through the camera's custom settings.
- Focus Range Limiter
- This function allows you to set a limit on the focusing range which can save you time during AF operation as the lens will not 'hunt' through the entire focusing range. On this macro lens, three ranges are supported: Full, infinity to 19.7" and 11" to 19.7".
- Sliding Focus Ring
- The focus ring slides back and forth to select manual or auto focus.
- Direct Drive Super Sonic Wave AF Motor
- Quiet, precise DDSSM focus drive employs piezoelectric elements oscillating at ultrasonic frequencies to drive the focus lens groups. In this case two floating focus groups are driven by independent DDSSM systems for precision positioning of the relatively heavy lenses required for macro photography. The system is remarkably quiet, making it ideal for animal and insect photography, as well as for video recording. It also improves the precision of "focus wobble" employed to achieve optimum focus when shooting movies.
- Lens-Based Optical Image Stabilization
- Gyro sensors built into the lens detect even the slightest movement, and the stabilization lens is precisely shifted to counteract any image blur that might occur. The use of precision, quiet linear motors and technology inherited from high-end Sony professional camcorders results in exceptionally quiet, effective image stabilization that contributes to high-quality movies as well as stills.
- Aspherical Lens Elements
- Aspherical lens design dramatically reduces spherical aberration while also reducing lens size and weight. Specially shaped aspherical elements near the diaphragm restore alignment of light rays at the image plane, maintaining high sharpness and contrast even at maximum aperture and can also be used at other points in the optical path to reduce distortion.
- ED and Super ED Glass
- Extra-low Dispersion and Super Extra-low Dispersion glass elements reduce chromatic aberration for sharp, color-accurate images.
- Nano AR Coating
- Effectively suppress reflections that can cause flare and ghosting with Sony's original Nano AR Coating technology. This nano-structure allows accurate light transmission, contributing to high-quality images, even more so than lenses with coatings that use an irregular nano-structure. The reflection suppression characteristic of the Nano AR Coating is superior to conventional anti-reflective coatings, providing a notable improvement in clarity, contrast, and overall image quality.
- Circular Aperture
- When changing your aperture to defocus the background, the light sources appear blurred. This 'bokeh' effect of the blurred background can be enhanced with circular aperture blades used in this lens. Its unique design keeps the aperture almost perfectly circular from its wide-open setting to when it is closed by 2 stops. Smoother, more natural defocusing can be obtained as a result.

This was one of those books I have a hard time reviewing because I struggle to find the words to adequately express how incredible it was! This book deserves every single star! It is heart-wrenching, emotional, and heavy. The depictions of self-worth, guilt, loss, love, and everything in between were done beautifully. There are multiple romances to root for and the development of the plot/world was executed brilliantly. It has an amazing set of characters that will bring out not only all the rage/hate but also sacrifice that will impact your soul! The ending of chapter 19 will live rent free in my mind and is now one of my top favorite moments from any book and why Landers will forever take a top spot in my all-time favorite book boyfriends! The depiction of what true friendship should be is also well represented! Ardan stole my heart as the best side character and if you’ve read this we need to talk (iykyk)!! I absolutely need the next book to see what happens next!!

Epic Adventure with FMC coming into her power

Honestly, the author, HM Wolfe had me at the dedication:

About: The Book of Cin takes us on a heart wrenching and inspiring journey of love, betrayal, self discovery and healing where everything Hyacinth thought she knew about the realms - and herself - is turned upside down. As she learns about her own dormant magic, she must also find her courage and make sacrifices to protect her friends as the threat of war hangs over them.
My reactions: Holy smokes, this was amazing! First off, I have to say that the trauma Hyacinth experiences from the emotional and physical abuse of her narcissistic boyfriend hit hard for me. It was written so realistically, and I especially appreciate the author’s accurate betrayal of what this type of trauma does to one's self-esteem and character. Her healing journey and growth throughout the story is paced with perfection, and I found myself cheering Cin on every time she reclaimed a bit of herself and discovered newfound strengths.
The sexual tension and attraction between her and Landers is the kind of slow burn you crave, and it delivers on making you more than ready for the tension to break. “The only time I want to see you on your knees,” he whispered with a low rumble, “is when those beautiful lips are wrapped around me.” How hot 🔥 is that?!
“You are mine.” He said the words not with possession, but in devotion. “You do not belong to me, but I . . . I belong to you.”
If you love epic adventures with found family, a morally grey MMC, magic, and an FMC coming into her own power, this needs to be added to your TBR. Oh, and did I mention, they’re dragons?!?!

She is really working toward taking back her voice, her choice and her power. The story covers themes of loss, betrayal and oppression as well as the power of friendship and having people truly see you. And Landers, our mmc, delicious.

Dual 1st person POV - Ara (26) & Rogue (39 - but looks mid-20s: they can live hundreds of years so this isn't that large of a gap as it could've been which I heavily appreciate lol)
Tropes: enemies to lovers, fae/human wars (deep hatred for each other), shifters (dragons- MMC can only partial shift with wings), one horse, one bed, touch her and d!e, found family, abduction turned to freedom
The Last Storm is the debut novel from JD Linton and let me tell you, you guys NEED to read this. The plot was engaging and the editing was was amazing (especially for a debut novel). Our FMC, Ara, is stuck in her gilded cage longing for a life outside of her small town. She uses her books to escape and live vicariously through the pages (honestly, relatable). After her father announces her betrothal to her childhood friend (to whom she has no romantic feelings for), Ara tumbles unknowingly into a desperate plot trying to stop the humans from slaughtering the Fae.
As one can expect from an enemies to lovers / kidnapper/captive romance, Ara fights her attraction and lust towards our MMC, Rogue (the King of the Fae), for as long as she can. Upon seeing Ara for the first time, Rogue is instantly aware that she is his fated mate (not a spoiler). Since she is the General's only daughter, he plans to abduct her and use her as leverage to stop the brutality. During Ara's time in Rogue's captivity, their banter and chemistry continue to rise until they finally boil over and come together (quite literally, and many times I may add 😉).
Here's what I LOVED:
- Rogue continuously seeks advice from his elders and deeply respects their opinions and life experience and tries to implement their recommendations
- Rogue makes many mistakes in the beginning but we see him actively work on not repeating them as the book progresses. The level of self-awareness and his ability to change his behavior was impressive
- The magic system is intricate and we have only scraped the surface. As the series continues and Ara progresses in her powers, I'm sure we'll get to see more of this. I absolutely LOVE the messaging system that is used in this book.
- Ara's struggles are so human and so raw. She is experiencing so much guilt and pain and hurt and getting to see her work through each of these emotions is inspiring. Especially as her and Rogue get closer and she learns she can lean on him as well, that she is not alone.
- While this is the start of a series, there is NO cliffhanger! There's a bit of a teaser of something major that is going to happen at the start of the next book, but it's not a cliffhanger in the sense that we aren't sure if someone is going to live or d!e or if they'll be separated. For that, I am very thankful! This book was so much fun that I will definitely be returning to book 2, even if it takes several months (or longer since this is an debut author) to publish!
- Lastly, the cover is GORGEOUS! And I love the title!

A Decent Fae Romance

** 3.5 Stars rounded up to 4 **
First off I want to say that I found the author, J. D. Linton, on TikTok right before the release of the sequel. I bought the first 2 books to support her release, so congrats to her for the release of the sequel!
Overall, I liked the story & plot, I liked the characters, and I liked the spice. The downfalls: not enough development between the characters for the romance, and it leaned a little heavy into the tropes. A lot of stuff is told to you, which could have been used as devices to drive the plot and emotions of the characters.
🛑🛑 Mild Spoilers ahead, I tried to hide the obvious ones 🛑🛑
This is very obviously a fated mates, which is a trope I usually really enjoy. But I wish the relationship between Ara & Rogue had much more development before it's realized that they're mates, instead of Rogue knowing almost immediately and using it for nefarious purposes (at least in the beginning before they get to know each other). By revealing this within the first quarter of the book, I feel like it leaves less room for them to fall for each other organically (albeit with help from the mating bond) and they love each other because of the mating bond. I was disappointed as soon as Rogue know (literally only 5% in) and I literally made a note: "As much as II love a good mating trope, I wish we had to work for it a little more. Where's the fun in just telling us?" I believe that by holding out and feeding the reader snippets of a potential bond, it would've been more rewarding as a reader.
I also wish there was more world building - we are told of a war between human & fae but don't get to really experience any of it. Ara is sheltered in her human home, then sheltered in Rogue's castle. There's bits and pieces about what the war has done on either side - but we're more told of the aftermath and don't really experience any of it. Ara's father is supposed to be the king's #1 general - yet he is at home with his family & with Ara for the first couple chapters. Her, her family, nor her village seem to be affected by the 10 year war going on on their borders. I wish there was a little more setup to make this conflict - an actual war - feel more than a skirmish between fighting territories.
Linton could also be a little repetitive - with the biggest culprit being when Ara is upset she "brings [her] knees to [her] chest]" and either sits like that or cries. Every time she is upset this phrase is mentioned. I would get it if this was her crutch, or how she copes with grief and stress, but that should be explained why she does it so often or it becomes repetitive. I started to get annoyed with how often she would sit like this solely because it happens every couple chapters.
However, I did really like the spice. I love an enemies to lovers trope, especially when it results in spicy scenes. The spicy scenes weren't anything new, but they were fun. Wish there were more but that could also just be me - there is no such thing as too much spice 😂
Would I read again? Probably not, I'm super picky with rereads. Although I did genuinely enjoy my first read through!
Will I continue the series? Probably, at least for the sequel. As for #3, kind of depends on where I am with my TBR once that is released
All in all an enjoyable, fast paced read
