Natural formation and features: This smoky quartz is a quartz crystal with a faceted freeform surface. The smoky color arises when natural radiation from surrounding rock activates color centers around aluminum impurities within the quartz. The specimen shows natural surface cavities and a range of translucency from pale to deep brown under light.
