Designed for use in hospitals and hotels, the Bobrick B-530x24 Extra-Heavy-Duty Surface-Mounted Towel Bar is an attractive, durable model. Measuring 1 inch in diameter and 24 inches in length, the towel bar is fabricated out of 18-gauge, type-304 stainless steel tubing. Capable of supporting up to 900 pounds of weight when installed with 1-1/2 inches of clearance from the wall, the towel bar is designed not to pull out of the wall if it is inadvertently used as a grab bar. The ends of the towel bar are outfitted with mounting flanges fashioned from stainless steel plates that are 1/8 of an inch thick. To conceal the mounting screws, stainless steel flange covers that are 3-1/4 inches in diameter and 5/8 of an inch deep are used. The towel bar has a satin finish, which is pleasing to the eye, but makes fingerprints and smudges on its surface far less evident than a polished finish.
