The model is 18 inches in length and measures 3/4 of an inch in diameter. After installing the towel bar with the 16-gauge stainless steel wall plates, the unit will be 3-1/4 inches away from the wall. The wall plates are concealed by the flanges, which are fully welded to the unit's support arms. Special 16-gauge stainless steel brackets in the flanges attach to the wall plates with locking setscrews.
