Application details

Consumption

In joints: Approx. 5 ml Sika® Primer 3N per linear meter in 1 cm deep joints (placed on both sides).
On surface : 150 ml of Sika® Primer 3N per square meter of surface to be primed.
In all cases it will depend on the absorption and porosity of the substrate.

Substrate Quality

The substrate must be clean, dry, free of oil and dust. All cementitious grout or loose material must be removed.

Application

Conditions / Limitations

Temp. Substrate: It must be at least 3° C above the dew point temperature.
Temp. Environment: +5° C min. / +40° C max.

Application Method / Tools

Apply Sika® Primer 3N with a brush directly to the inside edges of the joints, avoiding painting the bottom of the joint.
Apply a thin, continuous layer in a single pass.
Close the container very well immediately after each use.

Application Notes/Limitations

Primers improve the long-term performance of sealed joints.
Sika® Primer 3N must be used within 30 days of opening the container.
Discard any primer that has gelled or fragmented.
Primers are adhesion promoters. The use of Sika® Primer 3N does not exempt the obligation to carry out correct preparation and cleaning of the joint edges.
It should be applied away from a heat source and preferably in ventilated areas.
