HOPE IS FOR THE DEAD is a game of surviving the end of the world, a miniature skirmish game of scavenging, killing zombies, and building your very own Haven. A deadly virus found in the deep frozen lakes of Antarctica was the source of the first outbreak, and soon after the virus spread across the world.
How long will your Haven last?
The virus known as the Weeping Death makes its host create excessive vitreous humours that turn black and leak out of the eyes and mouths of its victim. As the virus spreads in the host, it mutates them to create more and more diseased and blackened vitreous humours.
Infected start out less contagious but fast, progressing to slower shambles with a higher viral load and eventually mutated beyond recognition.
In Hope is for the Dead you play as a Haven that is trying to survive two years. Game play is built off of the award winning Forbidden Psalm system. Each Haven member gains a Flaw, Feat, and equipment. Unlike in other Forbidden Psalm games, instead of buying equipment you will need to scavenge what you need to make it through.
