About the Album

Few albums fully establish and encapsulate a genre the way Slip does for post-hardcore. Originally recorded in 1992 and released in early February 1993, Slip remains as relevant and important today as it was nearly 30 years ago.

The album serves as a musical bridge between the New York Hardcore scene from which Quicksand emerged and the heavier, more expansive rock sound that would dominate the 1990s. While it stands alongside landmark releases from the same era, Quicksand’s NYHC roots give Slip a sharp edge absent from many of its contemporaries.

Opening track “Fazer” throws listeners headfirst into a wall of massive guitars, immediately showcasing the band’s ability to balance heaviness, melody, and anthemic songwriting. That balance reaches a peak on “Dine Alone,” a deceptively catchy single that introduced countless listeners to Quicksand’s crushing riffs, Walter Schreifels’ unmistakable vocal delivery, and a now-legendary bridge section.

The album proves that some of the heaviest riffs ever written can coexist with moments of space and reflection, particularly on tracks like “Lie and Wait.” Closing track “Transparent” brings the album full circle, combining weight and hope in a way that echoes the forward-thinking ethos of hardcore while pushing rock music into new territory.

Slip provided a blueprint that would influence countless bands — including Deftones, Glassjaw, Title Fight, and many more — cementing its place as an essential album in modern rock history and a testament to how far punk-rooted music can evolve.

Good value for a $55 boot.
Size: 12, Color: Army Green
I like these boots because I have a wide foot and even though I bought the 12 and NOT the 12W there is plenty of width. Very comfortable boot. I have put this pair through about 1000 miles mostly on asphalt, ice and snow. Very little actual dirt/ rocky trails. I bought them for the waterproofness and ankle support. Now the soles are getting thin and I can feel small rocks through the soles. Plus the soles are beginning to separate from the uppers and they are no longer waterproof. Not bad for 1000 miles. Still, I feel For a $55 boot they are a good value. I am 6ft and weigh 250.

Worth Every Penny!
Size: 9, Color: Coyote
I absolutely love these boots! They are super light, comfortable and definitely waterproof. I took them on a camping trip for the weekend and I walked through creeks and puddles with no issues at all. No water got inside and they were comfortable all weekend. The only thing was the tongue did start to bother me a bit after the 3rd day. I have some pretty boney shins but a small cloth between my shins and the tongue helped a lot.
