So much so that I made it a priority in my 2022 travels to go to Campania, visiting a wide range of producers, all in an attempt to find out what really is going on in the region.
One of the highlight of my trips was my visit with Marenza Pengue of Fosso degli Angeli, in the Sannio Beneventano. Along with her sister Dina and brother in-law Pasquale, they farm 7 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of olives. The vineyards are mostly on calcareous clay soils at an average height of about 450 meters above sea level. The family has been farming for three generations, although they did not start producing their own wines until 2009. They proudly farm organically, and in the small winery they work with natural yeast and low levels of sulfur dioxide.
Aglianico is perhaps one of the five most important grape varieties in Italy. It is often called the “Nebbiolo of the South” for its full-bodied, youthful tannins, long aging capabilities, and incredibly earthy aromas once given the proper aging. Along with old Barolo and Barbaresco, great Aglianico can have that truffle perfume once it ages.

Like a new bed.
Color: White, Size: Queen
Surprising how small the box it was delivered in. As the packaging is removed, the topper grows to full size. Easy to install. Very comfortable to sleep in. Getting into and out of a bed that is four inches taller takes some getting used to.

Overall decent
Color: White, Size: King
It smelled a bit “chemically” for the first few days. The smell did fade and eventually go away entirely. It also still slides off of my bed despite having the straps to hold it in place. Otherwise, I have no complaints. It’s extremely comfortable and adds a few extra inches to the height of my bed.
