Black currant. It might be one of the more controversial flavor calls. We’ve tasted it in its fruit form (sour and bright), and we also memorized its scent from the Le Nez du Café kit when we were taking coffee tests (although we find it quite funny that its smell drastically changed from kit to kit…). But more than anything, we associate its flavor and essence with our favorite bags of Kenyan coffee from our past. Deep purple sweetness and a piercing brightness meet never-ending caramel. Always a purple label (across brands, hilariously enough). Always a memorable factory name. Always from a vintage UG Probat. Ever since we installed our own Emmerich-made UG-15, we’ve dreamed of Kenyan beans meeting the cast-iron faceplate to see if there was something to our memories. Ultimately, you, Brewer, will have to decipher if we’re chasing SL pipedreams or if there’s something particularly special about an awkwardly chubby-sized drum with a fat diameter (and Aroma Wheel that sits above a gaping, wide-open hole…one of the many design mysteries). Here’s our description from our production roasts, if it gives you any idea what we believe in.

Aromatically intense. Dark purple fruits like plum, blackberry, and black cherry. Memorable Kenyan “reek,” signifying blackcurrant flavor. Acidity blasts across the palette with intensity and weight and transitions into a deep saturated purple sweetness that melds with rich caramel. Pursue the things that move you most. Understand your personal legend.

Great info TINY BOOK
Format: Paperback
There’s small, and then there’s this book. It’s true that this is a pocket size book. Look at the dimensions and then imagine 6pt font. Giving it four stars because info is great- succinct, useful, and up to date! But taking away one star because it should come with a magnifying lens.

Army Medic Emergency Reference
Format: Paperback
Great book for a field medic for emergency conditions. It fits nicely in my aid bag. The only issue I had with the actual book is it was bent on arrival

Not helpful for new grad
Just random facts No abdominal pain test panel/plan for example. An emed book should have basic guidelines for most common chief complaints

In paper, excellent, as Kindle book, useless
I've used this book, in early editions, in paper (remember that?), for years. Excellent pocket manual. But as a Kindle book, it's useless, unless you have Superman's microscopic vision.

Format: Paperback
Right to the point info that’s easy to find. As providers we don’t need basic info, this gets right to it.
