Distilled in 2002, it was laid down in a second fill American oak bourbon cask, hand selected to impart a gentle sweetness to the smoky, balanced spirit. But as it aged, this casks bold smokiness stood out to Dr Bill Lumsden. Intrigued by its intensity, he set Cask No. 3381 aside for an especially long maturation.
