There is, perhaps, no city in the world that is so commonly thought of as synonymous with “poverty” than Kolkata. Though the city’s “New Town” has skyscrapers that house the wealthy, most of the city is a sprawl of interconnected, poor, low-rise villages. By some estimates 40 percent of India’s population and as many as 50 percent of the children in Calcutta live beneath the poverty line. Its notorious nickname, “the black hole of Calcutta” conjures images in the minds of many Westerners of a metropolis full of miserable people. Yet, this is not what I observed. Compared to the people living in America’s urban slums and homeless camps, I found the slum dwellers of Kolkata joyful, friendly and generous – moral people with strong marriages, intact families and a rich and colorful cultural tradition.
PHOTO PRINTS
Prints are on Hahnemuhle heavyweight (315 gsm) 100% archival cotton “Photo Rag Baryta” paper, using archival inks and archival spray coating. They have a 200-year life expectancy before any deterioration of the print will be observed when stored, handled, and displayed under archival conditions.
CANVAS PRINTS
What is often called “Gallery Wrap Canvas” is a fine art inkjet (Giclee) print on canvas, with printed edges to wrap around a wooden stretcher frame, like a painting. With canvas prints, your print image is still the same size, but given a "wrap effect" around the edges to account for the thickness of the stretcher. Canvas can be rolled and shipped with no effect to the print. Your local framing shop should be able to mount the canvas to stretchers at a fraction of the cost of traditional framing, making for an overall more economical way to get fine art on your wall. The canvas is printed to wrap around a 1-inch stretcher (1.5 inches on larger sizes). Specifications will be provided with your order. Works great in my setup
I got this for my work desk, and it does exactly what it's advertised to do: it holds my laptop (which is 16 inches). And it doesn't wobble and shake whenever I type on my external keyboard (I use a Unicomp Ultra Classic, which uses buckling springs, so I'm putting a decent amount of force into each keypress - if a stand is not stable, it will be immediately obvious to me), and I can even move my mouse underneath the stand without running into any problems. (Before, when my laptop was sitting directly on the desk, it was annoying how it made me move my keyboard around and inhibited my range of mouse movement, but now I can place my keyboard right where I want it and use my mouse as I please.)
The stand feels very sturdy and well-constructed, and it keeps my laptop at eye level. Height-adjust would be nice, but I have yet to find a good quality adjustable laptop stand, so I'll just use books to adjust it if the need arises. The box it comes in is also quite nice.
This thing freed up desk space where I needed it and is unlikely to ever fail (there are no moving parts), so I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a laptop stand.

Not Your Average Laptop Stand
One of the things that I always worry about with stands for my computer is how sturdy they will be. If they aren't sturdy, they aren't really worth having. This is super sturdy -- I don't feel any bounce or flex when I work on it. It's also super well made and looks good sitting on my desk. Both of those things make this one of the best stands that I've used. I just wish it were adjustable.
