THE JOURNEY

On this eight day seven night Inca experience you will visit multiple cities of Peru hitting all the most iconic spots including one of the New 7 wonders of the world Machu Picchu. This carefully curated experience not only exposes you to the traditional culture and historic world UNESCO sites, but will also enhance your senses with local culture, dancing and cuisine. This is one trip you will remember for the rest of your life!

Welcome to Lima Peru, a gastronomic capital of the Inca empire! Once you arrive at the airport and pass through customs you will meet your ITA Global representative at the airport who will connect you with the driver and head to your hotel for a check-in and some relaxing time for the afternoon. Then you will enjoy a cultural dinner experience at one of Lima's newest dinner dance shows.

Start your day with a great breakfast in Lima before transferring to the airport for a short domestic flight over to Cusco. Our team will pick you up when you arrive at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel.Later on enjoy Dinner at a local restaurant.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel and some cocoa tea to help acclimate with the altitude before heading out on a full day to the popular ancient site of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban centre located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. In Chinchero there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru.

Then, you are transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, a centre of Andean traditions & interpretations, where demon strations of the elaboration of textile work, adobe, pottery and silverware are carried out in the same way in which they used to in antiquity; an original recreation of Inca traditions.

Also, at the museum are llamas, sheep and alpacas, which can be fed! Then, enjoy a delicious lunch in the town of Ollantaytambo. Go up the iconic steps of the enclosure, built next to the mountain. At the end of this activity, you are transferred to the train station to Aguas Calientes town at the base of Machu Picchu.

After breakfast take a short bus ride where you will arrive at Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that is believed to have served as a sanctuary and resting place for the Inca Pachacutec. Machu Picchu, which means 'Old Mountain', is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

At the end of the tour you will return by bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Inkaterra Café. You will finish your visit by taking the Expedition 504 train to Ollantaytambo Station and finally, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of this charming city,which was the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour starts with a visit to Santo Domingo Convent, a large Renaissance-baroque complex, which was built over the Inca Coricancha temple. It was one of the most important temples dedicated to worshipping of the sun and its foundations are still prominent at the base of the convent. Ancient chronicles say the temple was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature.

Then, visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument of the Main Square. Next you will Head to the hills above Cusco to visit the remains of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman with stunning panoramic views of Cusco, and the ruins of the temple and amphitheatre of Qenqo, where it is believed the Incas practised agricultural rituals. Admire Qenqo and then finally visit Puka Pukara (‘Red fortress’ in Quechua) an Inca military complex located on a prominent hill. Afterwards,return to your hotel.

Eat breakfast at the hotel then The adventure begins with a transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the starting point of the trek to the impressive Palcoyo mountain range. Alike Vinicunca, the 7-colour mountain, Palcoyo acquires its colouration due to minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium, among others, accumulated over millions of years, which now offer a visual spectacle reaching a maximum elevation of 4,900 metres above sea level. Upon arrival, enjoy the beautiful view of the mountain range and take a few minutes to appreciate the surroundings After this visit, start the descent and enjoy a picnic-lunch with a view. When finished, you are transferred back to your hotel in Cusco.

Enjoy your last breakfast in Cusco then transfer from your hotel to the airport for a domestic flight back to Lima for your farewell dinner experience.

Interesting take on the genre

True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️
