Charlie Barnet (1913-1991) is best known as the popular bandleader whose hits included Cherokee, Pompton Turnpike, and Skyliner. But he was also the first to break the color barrier in a popular dance band, and his black musicians included Clark Terry, Roy Eldridge, and singer Lena Horne; his white musicians included Jack Purvis, Red Norvo, Maynard Ferguson, and Doc Severinson. Barnet not only played jazz, he lived the jazz life: in this book, he writes of his whiskey and marijuana habits, of his whorehouse visits and his half-dozen marriages. Charlie Barnet epitomised the jazz age, and there are few memoirs as lively as Those Swinging Years.Binding Type: Paperback

Realistic pictures, Good for vocabulary learning
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Small and not very durable, but realistic and great for learning vocabulary. My 1yr old likes looking at the pictures and can handle the books well since they are small. If left unsupervised with them, they’d get destroyed. But it’s a good learning activity to do together. Would be nice if they were a little more durable but hey, they were cheap enough. I would pay more for a higher quality set.

Durable, engaging board books for little ones
Format: Hardcover
I’ve been reading these board books with my toddler for a few weeks, and they’re perfect for little kids just starting to explore books. The pages are sturdy and easy for small hands to turn, and the bright colors and simple text keep my child engaged.
What I liked: durable construction, easy to handle, fun illustrations
What could be better: some pages could have slightly more variety in text for repeated readings
Overall, these board books are a great value and make story time simple and enjoyable for toddlers.

Life's Lessons
Format: Hardcover
This is such a delightful story that every child can relate to in the little mishaps of life.
It brought a smile to my face as I pictured "Grandpa" offering comfort and encouragement.
It is a lesson for all ages and bigger problems in life as well...."Don't Worry, Stay Happy."
Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your story.
