The enlargeable picture gives an excellent sense of this book's appeal.  The cover is in beautiful shape with only minor flaws.  The cover reflects light well (with 85% of original gloss) and has strong sharp coloring.  No color breaking creases except for a couple of extremely minor ones near the bottom right corner and what non-color breaking creases are present detract only a bit from the cover's appeal.  Minor discoloration at the edges.  There are some tiny spine stress marks.  General very light soiling on the front cover with a bit more soiling on the back.  Interior pages are very supple and off-white to a light tan at the edges.  The staples are extremely well placed and the cover nicely cut with color extending nearly all the way to the spine.  The cover is firmly attached to both staples.  The cover's edges are sharp though with micro tearing at some points.  The corners are squarish.  The book lies relatively flat with 2 of the corners rising 2 millimeters.  The book is complete with all pages securely attached with no interior tears or rips.  Overall a beautiful copy of a rare book with one of the most striking covers to appear in World's Finest during this time. 

Batman is our favorite comic hero.  Having no superpowers, he must rely on his education, intelligence, and cunning to a larger degree than his superhero counterparts.  This is the pre-new look Batman peopled with fantastic creatures, crooks with sci-fi powers, a fair number of aliens, and a load of bat-gear (though not with the campiness of TV Batman).  This version of Batman is aimed to please those into Asimov's style of pulp science fiction!!

 

Comic Grading - Definition of a Crease.
     
Crease - A fold which causes ink removal, usually resulting in a white line.  This seems to be the sense of what a crease is to Overstreet's Grading Guidelines and most comic graders.  We note two categories of creasing in our descriptions, 1) color breaking and 2) non-color breaking. 
 
For a color breaking crease, it must show that white line, though of course the thickness, length, and cover location of the crease are all important factors in how severely the crease actually degrades the cover's impact.
 
A non-color breaking crease is technically not a crease since it doesn't break color, but to those of us who have spent hours obsessing over our books, it is an interruption in the gloss or how the cover reflects light.  Take a smooth unblemished white sheet of paper and press your thumb nail into it several times using varying amounts of pressure.  As the paper is white there is no break in color, but depending on lighting and its angle to the paper eventually you would be able to see every point where the nail impressed the paper.  Again the noticeability, number, and locations of non-color breaking creases are factors affecting the quality of the cover.
 
If a cover is generally smooth, this means the non-color breaking creases present are interfering little with the cover's appearance.  These kinds of creases range from unnoticeable in normal viewing conditions to very intrusive.  A comic must be very carefully handled to avoid leaving these impressions at the edges.
 
Unfortunately, scans of the covers, even the enlargeable pictures we employ, do not always fully depict these imperfections.  We try to fill in the gaps by offering our estimate of what the Overstreet Grade would likely be, and by giving a detailed written description. 
 
Like most comic buyers and graders we have exchanged thoughts with, we agree that Overstreet Grading Guidelines provide a helpful starting point to access a book's quality, but we all have our own tastes and biases, and sharp disagreements on various books as well as complaints about Overstreet's approach.  Different books will impress you differently than they would us, which is why we try to be detailed and factual.  We are merely trying to provide my buyers with enough background so the book received satisfies or exceeds the expectations generated by our listing.

High quality solid wood rest
Size: 14.4"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut
This wrist rest is nicely finished and was well packed in high-density foam as well as a cardboard box that was wrapped very tightly in thick plastic. It's sanded very, very smooth and is made of beautiful solid walnut, with nonskid pads on the back. The branding is on the side that touches the keyboard, so it is not visible or obtrusive at all. My keyboard is 15.5 inches long, and the 14.4 inch rest looks great up against it. The 0.78" thickness is also very suitable for the thickness of my keyboard. The product gets 5 stars because it is accurately represented and this is entirely down to personal preference, but something about this rest that I don't love is the degree of incline. I have my keyboard up on the kickstands, and the wrist rest that I already owned slopes pretty dramatically starting from the middle, so it follows the angle of the keyboard. The ZQL wrist rest is about 75% flat and then has a small slope that rounds off on the bottom edge. Again, this is very much a personal thing; I just brought it up because it's something that people might not think too much about until they actually use it. I think this rest would be great for anyone with very large hands, or with a flat keyboard. It's taking a little getting used to for me, but I really enjoy the smoothness and obvious quality of the wood. A wrist rest is an ergonomic must when it comes to thicker keyboards.
