Often, new strength trainees don’t know where to begin. After years of directing future gym rats to existing training templates, Ken Gack imparts his thirty years of experience to develop something better. The Russians developed the periodization approach to strength training over five decades ago. It has been a staple to strength training programs since that time. With the explosion in popularity of powerlifting over the last decade, more advanced approaches have begun to edge out periodized based approaches in popularity and performance.

One of the advantages of periodized approaches is the structure they bring to strength training. This is particularly valuable for newer lifters. This structure, however, can become so rigid that it dampens potential strength gains. The power of contemporary strength programming is that it provides flexibility to maximize a person’s strengths and strengthen their weaknesses. The newer methodologies this book focuses on have taken more lifters to world powerlifting championships than any other approach.

This book seeks to use a basic periodized foundation and incorporate newer methodologies to give it flexibility that enhances its strength training effect.

About the Author

Ken Gack ‘the Ripper’ has spent over three decades under the bar, with over two of those decades on the powerlifting platform. In this time, he has competed in over fifty powerlifting competitions and has coached powerlifters and strength athletes for over a decade.

He has racked up a long list of accomplishments in the sport of powerlifting including being a former International Powerlifting Federation World Champion and has competed in the world championships ten times. He has also competed in the Arnold Sports Festival, one of the biggest sporting events in the world, three times, including one appearance in Europe. He is a six-time USA Powerlifting National Champion, a member of the Washington State Powerlifting Hall of Fame, has held USA Powerlifting State and American records in the squat, bench press, deadlift and total. He has coached dozens of powerlifters in competition at the local, state, national, and world level and has developed an extensive on-line library of strength training and lifting articles and materials.

Ken has established his own unique style of strength training through lifting and studying under some of the best coaches in the world, decades of personal competition experience, and planning and coaching his lifters through hundreds of thousands of sets of training. He has distilled this experience and approach into the Beginner’s Strength System described in this book.

How To Be Enoch In A Few Easy Steps
Format: Kindle
The title of this book is a tad misleading. Mike certainly does a great job of helping the reader deal with the issue of seeing a lot of dark and negative things when learning to see in the spirit. But that's not all. In this book, Mike includes a lot of other worthwhile steps and exercises to help you see in the spirit in general. In fact, he includes some of this in most of his books, but the repetition necessary. You've got to get the basics down to get it to work. I think people get in the habit of thinking, "If I just read one more book on using the spiritual senses, it'll finally happen for me." But that's not how it works. To see and hear in the spirit and walk in the spirit realm (literally), you have got to do the basic exercises Mike suggests, and you've got to make it a lifestyle. In this book, as with pretty much all of Mike's books, he essentially tells you how to be just like Enoch. Enoch didn't have to be the only person in the antediluvian age to have a living relationship with the Lord. Anybody could've had that, in any age, regardless of their background. But they just weren't interested. It was for Enoch just as much as it was for Cain, Saul, and King Manasseh. The Lord wasn't holding out on anybody. Enoch was just the guy who wanted that relationship. Some people think, "If the Lord wants that, he'll show me himself!" But that's baloney. The Lord himself directly spoke to Cain. To the children of Israel at Sinai. To Judas Iscariot. But they all turned away to their own delusions. It all comes back to the same reality: Jehovah isn’t holding out on anyone. He’s fully present, fully available. It’s just that most people, even when told exactly how to wake up, would rather stay dreaming. Here, Mike provides a toolbox and skillset, with training included, to be like Enoch. But, like Enoch, you've got to choose to follow that path, and not settle. Then, the things that Mike suggests will start working for you. Like all of Mike's mystical teachings on the spiritual life, this one's well worth it. Just stick with it, and don't settle.

Great, easy to understand explanations
Format: Kindle
I definitely needed this! I have been enduring a long period of spiritual attacks in the natural and physical realms. It has helped me to better understand my calling, even though I have been serving God as a spirit filled and spirit baptized follower of Yeshua.

Challenge Accepted
Format: Kindle
I liked the book. It challenged my position of focusing on the light and ignoring the darkness. It challenges me to desire the whole experience of spiritual awareness and sight and to become adept in living as a watchman.
